Regarding the T word

I understand your point and agree. I just get frustrated when people believe we should beat team X simply because we have more "talent." I believe the word is way overrated. I don't even completely understand how it is defined.

I would define talent as bigger, faster, stronger, athletes with superior skills. You can usually tell which team has more talent during pre game warm ups

Fun fact: Vandy averages about 1 player a year drafted and we cant even compete with then like TSU does who rarely has a player drafted.

Fun Fact: there is a thread titled nega vol media which rips David hooker for telling recruits to think long and hard about coming to Tennessee, in the same page that confirms our inability to but 4 and 5 star talents in the nfl.

Dave Hooker is fake news, bigly Serious question; Do you like the Vols? Or are you just crabby because of your avi? What’s up with that?

Except players get bigger/stronger not only naturally but also through the diet and S&C program that they’re committed to. Skills are developed through repetition. So “talent” is developed? What an interesting web we weave! 😀

and that word is "talent," a word thrown around the forum quite a bit and the source for many a VN debate, argument or name calling. Yes, I know this is from Hyams, but since it is in the past, I have to think it is as close to accurate as possible.

For all of those who want to talk about recruiting classes and stars, I humbly submit that this says all you need to know about what has gone on in Knoxville the last few years.

What if 3 end up on an NFL roster this year, 4-5 next year and 6 more the year after? How many NFL guys on the roster does it take? Also pretty sure this year's draft hasn't taken place, how do you claim something based on something that hasn't happened yet?

Is someones opinion fake news?
Yes im a vols fan. My avi is a navy helmet as I am a navy fan as well. I put that there a couple years ago before the game and never took it down. Why would I be crabby, or did you think it was a vandy helmet?

Thought it was some hybrid Vandy helmet. Dave Hooker is what it is, opinion and just like elbows everybody has one. Do not like it when people use opinion pieces to try and make a point, because it isn't fact, just opinion.

I guess there are 2 ways to look at player development 2018:
wow, look how much improvement the team made between game 1 and KY
wow, we looked much worse in the last game than we did the first game

I don't have a clue, personally, what happened after the KY euphoria. Were key players PO'd because Pruitt kept dogging them after a big win? Did catching a red-hot Mizzou team hollow us out completely? Is Vandy more talented than we are?? (in what world is that even possible?) Could all 3 be true or partly true....idk.

I don't think talent is a problem. Developing it is. As much as I wanted CBJ to succeed he just failed in that aspect. Regardless if you like a coach or not the big picture is you support him until the end. We all want UT to succeed and hope for the best. Butch didn't set out to fail, nor has CJP. You play the cards dealt you and you make the most out of the hand. While I think CJP is better suited for the SEC than butch, the man did alot of good for the university he will never get credit for because simple minded people cant look past certain things. I supported Butch till the end and wish things would have ended different but hating on a man that brought us to 3 bowl games and 2 9-4 seasons is childish. One thing I can't say about Jones is he didn't give us his all. It might not have been good enough but he gave us everything he had. Would love to see how some of you arm chair coaches would have fared given the same situation. GROW THE HECK UP
