Why wouldn't we use him as a wide receiver?:dunno:

We have to find a way to stretch the field.

I really like the idea of finding ways to get Gerald Jones and Eric Berry on the field together. :crossfingers:

Has this been discussed?

I like Eric were he is at now myself. Just think of this D without Eric on it. We have a good class of WR's for next year. Welcome to the board btw. :hi:

between moore, jones, o'neil and hopefully paige, the speedsters are there at wr. now it's just a matter of getting them to learn the routes and blocking. No reason to overuse Berry.

yeah if berry was a backup safety then that would be a good idea...but being a starting safety in the SEC is too demanding

He may get some time over there next year. But it will be in a limited role. He had to much on his mind playing defense this year. The game will be slower for him next season.

we have got to get the ball in his hands at least a few times a game. his is our game-changer. i don't care if its on returns, at QB, or WR. just get him the ball in the open field

I think he's using his offense talent well in our defense. 5 picks for 222 yards, 2 fumble returns for 55 yards. He is such a weapon. But I agree, using him on both sides in SEC is too demanding.

Let Berry keep doing exactly what he's been doing. Why change something when it's working very well? The last thing we need to do is get him tired or injured.

I think there is a reason Berry is on defense instead of a WR, and I believe that has to do with hands.

That may be your opinion, but I still believe if he could be a receiver, he would.
A stud safety/corner that has great ball skills and hits like a truck is 10000000x more valuable that a stud receiver with good ball skills. You can turn most good athletes into good receivers with a little work. DB's like Berry are ridiculously rare.
