Regarding Dooley, BJ and the current state of affairs

I haven't logged on here in forever, but it's almost that time of year again, isn't it? If VN is anything like it used to be, then the FF is the premier place on the internet to express distaste for Mr. Dooley. That man was just a horrible coach through and through...a true embarrassment to the storied and celebrated UT football program. I mean, do y'all remember all those threads that posted the stats and records he broke (not the good kind of records obviously)? Thankfully his firing was relatively swift, and we got ourselves a new man. The hiring of BJ left many fans in shock, awe, disgust, confusion, concern and sleep deprivation...especially to the Gruden thread regulars. If I remember correctly, at least 4 other coaches were reached out to, if not given formal offers before our man finally donned our cherished orange. I gotta admit, there were some sleepless nights after the announcement. But seeing what coach Jones has accomplished in the off season has given a lot of hope to a lot of fans. He definitely made a buzz with his work in recruiting, and has undoubtedly injected 1 million ccs of gusto into our beloved program. It's certainly too early to tell if he is THE guy for UT, but I think we all can agree that we're off to a humble but great start. So, here we go. Here's to coach Jones getting us back to SEC title contention and beyond. GO VOLS BABY! :rock:

Welcome back. I too signed off of Volnation after CBJ was hired until this week. The whole Gruden/Dooley/Losing Record thing lead to many many sleepless nights for me.. personally it wasn't worth it so I walked away from the forum for a while. I would still wear my orange and as a VFL I never left my team. I'm back, but no more sleepless nights. It is what it is and I am relatively powerless to do anything about it. I will support my Vols through and through.. I will support CBJ and the rest of the coaches and I do feel pretty good about the work he has done.

Then again, I felt pretty good about the preseason last year.

Oh well, off to bed.

It was supposed to be a play on words, but no one gets it. Sal was an insincere kind of guy...hence insunseri. At the time I thought it was uber clever.

You missed a lot of fun during the off season if you've not logged on to VN in a while. Recruiting has been a blast for the first time in a while. I can't imagine being away this year, I'm believing we are on the way back up!

Welcome back and yes, the Derick Doofus era is finally over. The Butch Jones era is just beggining and he's already done a lot for this program: Best staff in the country, #1 recruiting class, you name it. Clearly Butch gets it! Go Vols!

Next thing I know...you'll be informing me that Carl Sagan is dead.

Well, it's kinda become this thing...I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard "you should change your name"...for some reason it makes me want to keep it. Hard to explain.

Welcome back. But please don't rehash anything Dooley. We have already exercised those demons. :bash: Most of Volnation has moved on to the positives of CBJ and what he as brought to our mighty Vols. :good!:

It starred Richard Simmons and had this theme song you could not get out of your head.... I think it was called Tubular Balls. :crazy:
