Referees were finally on our side?

For the first time in 15 or more years, the Refs call a decent game. I think they missed a few interference calls on Alabama, but most of time their defenders were so far away from our receivers they did not get the chance to interfere.

Thread title sucks. They weren’t on our side. Most of Bama’s penalties were not subjective calls. They were calls made against a sloppy team. The PI interference against us in the end zone was horrible. Should have been offensive PI and put their shtty FG kicker out of FG range.

The fact that 6 flags didn’t hit the ground on the Fant PI is what should be questioned.

That last one was not clean. You can’t have your arms wrapped around a receiver before and while he’s going up to grab a ball. Even the receiver behind that got laid out before the ball was tipped.

I don’t think the refs gave us any calls that we did not deserve. Instead I think They actually just called a fair game. The only major blown call against us was the pass interference on our DB that should have been called on Bama’s WR.

But for a team that has gotten so many blatantly bad calls against us in recent years, why all of a sudden were the refs so fair today?

It looked like they almost wanted us to win. They certainly weren’t paid off by the Bammers…

Anyone have any inside info?? Or care to speculate?!?

There were two PI calls that weren't called on Bama DBs earlier in the game. They didn't call OL holding on either side but there were several times Bama OLs prevented sacked by grabbing and holding the backs of UT jerseys.

Bama fans and Saban are simply so used to getting favorable officiating that they think anything close to straight up officiating is unfair.

IMO..and i have watched very little Bama football this year...What ive seen is Bama having to adapt to rules they were not expected follow in prior years. Maybe just my imagination but i dont think so.

Now what would cause that would just be more speculation but as a previous poster stated,it was an accepted fact nationwide that they were shown favortism. Maybe somoene from on high decided to do something about it.
