What the heck is up with the refs wearing black pants with a white stripe? Not the referee unis are great looking anyhow, but that looks atrocious.

I've obviously seen the shirts, but this is the first time I've noticed the pants. I'm getting the Chiefs/Jags game here and it's the first time I've seen black pants. They look like they are officiating the game in warm up pants.

You know, when the refs ran out of the tunnel and the teams saw those stripes down the sides of their pants, all of the players and coaches fell to their knees in fear.....knowing that now they would miss even more calls than in the games where they don't have the striped pants.

I think you are probably right, although I think the referees would perform better in pants with double stripes.

I knew there was something about the stripes on the pants that would enhance their performance.

If an in depth study was performed, the number of challenge flags thrown by coaches would be drastically reduced in games which double-striped pants were worn by officials.

Bryant Gumbel was spouting off about it during one of their games that the black pants are what they wear when it's cold.

yeah, it's cold weather gear.

Heard on Czaban's show that the entire uniform change was a reaction to the bud light commercials--that if they want to keep doing them and "making fun" of NFL refs, they'll either have to wear the old-school outdated shirts or pay up to wear the new ones.
