Reece Davis wants Oregon

Reece Davis was on Feinbaum yesterday discussing CFP. He stated emphatically that Oregon should be in the mix as the Georgia/TN beat down was every bit the same beat down as GA 49-3 over Oregon?!?! That was on a neutral field. ESPN is dying to have west coast representation. Ridiculous stmt
idiot look at Tn resume

Bo Nix will fall off. They have 3 games that they could lose if he has a bad game. Washington and Oregon St are both fringe top 25 teams and Utah will be a tough game. Then they will have USC or UCLA in the conference championship.

Right now the media is hyping up the last month of the season. Tennessee being 14 point + favs against Mizzou, USCjr, Vandy and no championship game doesn't get the people going. Oregon, USC, TCU, and outside chance of LSU does. All of these teams have a tough road in front of them

Does the committee move UM to #4 and TCU to #5 and drops us to 6?
I actually hope so. I have no problem w/ Herbstreit’s tweet. We lost. We shouldn’t be in the top 4 right now . There’s going to be a whole lot of movement between now and the first week in December. As long as we win I think we’ll be in.

We almost made our game a 1 score game w/ under 4 minutes . That’s not exactly a 6 touchdown loss. GTFO Rece.

Yes Vols had the huge buildup for a heavyweight fight and could not compete. I understand the case for a west coast team but there is a lot of football left and TCU and the west coast teams may meet the same fate as Clemson leaving the Vols as the last man standing. We will see.

Can I ask you fans to stop worrying about something you can't control.
You're right and I'm usually the one saying it, but I don't see as much "worry" as I do just straight up interest/hope. For once in a long time the consolation prize is still better than most if not all us thought possible this year.

I'm having g a blast.

Just win out go to Sugar Bowl beat someones ass down and prepare to be better next year leave no doubt. In a way I would like to see Oregon make playoffs to make ESPN happy and watch them get freaking demolished by Ohio State or Georgia again and then laugh like hell.

UGA out gained us by less than 100 yards. They out gained Oregon by over 250 yards. So outside of the score being closer, so were many of the stats.

A one loss Pac team is going to get in. I’m not saying I agree with it, but Oregon will get in if they have 1 loss, same for USC or UCLA. I really think it’s down to us and TCU. We need TCU to lose and probably need OSU to beat Michigan (preferably rather soundly).

That said, oregons resume is trash. One win over a ranked team (UCLA at home).

Ideal situation: 2 loss pac winner. Which is still feasible. USC still has ucla and notre dame. Oregon still has Utah. And then a championship game.
I think Michigan has been the better team than OSU this year.

Also a TCU loss and a 2 loss PAC 12 winner really opens the door for 2 SEC vs 2 Big 10 teams in the playoffs which would be interesting.

Reece Davis is a Bammer who still has his panties in a wad because we beat them. I'm sure he's also saying Brian Kelly is the debil. Reece Davis IS NOT the committee. Don't let poor losing little bammers upset your Tuesday.

Reece trying to make an apples to apples comparison while peeling an orange.
To be a true, transitive, comparison between the two games both would have to have been played in the same conditions...neutral field, weather and crowd not a factor.
Guarantee if our game was under the same conditions as Oregon played UGA, we win.

I've been saying - at length - in other posts here that an 11-1 UT is far from being a slam dunk in making the CFP. A one loss conference champion from the Pac 12 or ACC would both be ahead of UT when the dust settles. As will an undefeated TCU. If UGA runs the table, the winner of OSU/Michigan is undefeated, TCU is undefeated, and the PAC 12 and ACC both have 1 loss champions they will ALL be ahead of UT in the final playoff rankings. That's why you really, REALLY need TCU to lose, UGA to stay unbeaten, the OSU/Michigan game to be a total blowout, and either the Pac 12 or ACC champion to have 2 losses. That's a lot of things you need to happen to get in to be quite honest. The saving grace is that anything can happen and there's still 3 or 4 games for these other schools to play in order to get to the final rankings.

Our 14 point loss doesn’t take away everything else we’ve accomplished this year. If Reece Davis is trying to make that claim than he’s dumber than I thought. Nobody comes close to our SOS and resume so far. The LSU rout looks better and better every week. What has Oregon done thus far?

The only way a 1 loss P12 team gets in if they win their conference with only one loss.
