I agree the rivalry at this point is one sided. However, if you think the Florida fans see Tennessee as just another SEC team on their schedule, you haven't been paying attention.Hype hype and more hype.
I have no problem with Forde per se, but until we hit Florida in the mouth a couple of season in a row this rivalry is one sided...unfortunately we see them as a "rival" they see us as another SEC team on the schedule.
GO VOLS
ivan maisel in the espn podcast referred to it as a "monday through friday" rivalry.
"monday through friday, there's a lot of yapping and chest pounding.....
saturday, there's no rivalry"

UT v UF is #2 all because of the CLK remarks. give us no credit at all, and make note that we are only tied in the series because of days long past...
i thought the end remarks of the Bama v LSU summary were pretty funny...![]()
To calrify that point further, the Vols and Gators didn't schedule each other very often until the Cockies and Hogs were added to the SEC and the conference was divided into divisions. When that happened Tennessee and Florida were put in the same division which required an annual game.Sort of... but one of the major reasons its tied, or even close, is because we barely played at all until Steve Spurrier arrived at Florida.
Double edged sword.
Wow, espn really wants florida to beat us by a ridiculous score don't they? All these write ups keep talking about us losing by anywhere from 70 to 100 points.
Look analysts, I don't think meyer's a classy guy, but I don't think he's that classless of a guy to run up the score by that ridiculous of a margin.
but they sure do want it to happen so they can write about it later...
So you're saying that they can beat us by that much?
Agreed. And I think Coach Monte will have a lot to do with the "blowout" not happening. No way. Sure, maybe UF might get the better of UT this year, but I think everyone knows that Lane Kiffin will have his boys ready to play on Gator Week. Its gonna be a fast, uptempo, high intensity game. The gators might get the best of the vols this year due to tons of returning talent, but theres no way its a blow out.
To be honest, I couldn't give a damn of a game that happened 30 years ago. Recent history (within the past 20 years) is all I really care about. What am I going to do...boast about a game that happened in 1936 or even 1980 for that matter? No.
The Gators have dominated us over the past 15-20 years and that's all that really matters.
So you're saying that they can beat us by that much?
