I know Tennessee is really low in alot of recruiting services rankings, but by the end UT will be alot higher. Everyone says Vandy is killing Ut since they have such a high ranking but it totally due to the fact they have alot more commits currently. When Tennessee fills out its class we wil certainly be a top 20 team so dont get down ibn the dumps about it.

As obvious as the OP is...A LOT OF PEOPLE STILL DON'T KNOW IT.

A lot of people who think the sky is falling need to read this simple thread IMO.

Top 20 isn't good enough if there are 9 other SEC teams in front of you.

With the product we've put out there for all these kids to see the last 5 years a Top 20 class would be impressive, especially considering we are on our 4th coach in those 5 years. I know it may be behind 8-9 other SEC schools but expecting uch better is just expecting too much right now.
But of course those that wont be happy with anything but the #1 class after a coaching change are the same people that are demanding CBJ win the SEC next year or they will say he is a failure. Of course these are the same people that can't see that CBJ was a great hire and live in a world where top coaches will leave secure, high paying jobs to come to UT where they may have been given a truck load of cash but would also be risking their future careers and their legacies.
Do these posters not realize that the only reason Bama got Saban was because he was failing in Miami. They didn't go out and pull a top coach from a team that he was having success with. That is impossible because no coach will risk his reputation and his career to leave one top program to go to another that has been struggling.

Scout is pretty good at evaluating talent. Rivals is pretty good at breaking news. In general there are some really good people in the industry. It's a rare talent. Unfortunately there are also some lame people in the industry , that are just in it for the almighty dollar, and the kids get over hyped sometimes. Some of it, at times can be political

But of course these are the same people who live in fantasy land thinking Gruden was the answer and was coming to UT.

So what your saying is that if Tennessee is doing great then they can attract a big name coach? Of course if we're doing great then why do we need another coach?

You're exactly right. Unfortunately, this is still going to take some more patience. We can't expect CBJ to step in to this situation in December and 'fix' everything right now. I"ll take a top 20 recruiting class. That would be a strong class given our issues. Then, we need these coaches to get the most out of them. A top 20 class is still full of good players capable of winning a fair number of games. Then, it of course hinges on next year. CBJ needs good performances to build the next year's class and it can snowball from there.

Many recruits will move away from UT b/c of the new coaches and new schemes. They're trying to make the best decision for their future and UT has a good deal of uncertainty about it. Therefore, I'm not surprised that CBJ is pursuing Cinci commits/interested parties. He may have to load up on JUCOs that fit his system whilst he nurtures coach/player relationships for '14. Of course, if he goes 8-4 and a bowl, that will help next year's ('14) recruiting more than anything.

CBJ has a task ahead of him - not as bad as Dooley, but a task nonetheless. While we may get a few 4* players, we need to be optimistic about several 3* that will undoubtedly litter our class b/c of the uncertainty, coaching changes and field performance.

Of course, if Bama has a new coach, it might help us. However, it'll probably help UGA and USCe more.
