How do yahoo and Espn have us in the 20's nationally and scout and 247 have us in the 40's?

That's not even same ballpark. I've always favored rivals(yahoo) and espn is very thorough in the guys they look at, especially in recent years.

I hate scout and 247 seems incomplete. They(247) go real big on some guys that everybody has as 3* like Jenkins, while they don't even look at others. Might just be a money thing though.

Like not enough money to travel and really scout those players well.

What do you all think?

I really just go off of the composite rankings on 247 now. It's good to get opinions of a bunch of different views cause a lot of times one view could be skewed a certain way.

If scout has us 20 and Rivals has us 40 what would your feelings be?

I would just pay attention to Rivals and 247. ESPN recruiting is absolutely terrible, and they really only pay attention to the top 150 or so players in the country. Scout is Scout. They have they worst ranking formula.

IMO, 247 is only going to get better, from a national standpoint. GoVols247 is "OK." Rucker can be such a butt-plug. VQ is the best for information pertaining to only UT.

In my opinion, 247 has a long way to go to reach the level of credibility Scout, Rivals, and ESPN recruiting coverage has. 247 relies on too much home cooking, too much second and third hand info, and not nearly as much expertise out there scouting players.

I dont like espn, but if you go by them there recruiting rankings are very close to the total talent level that is coming in, but they dont count junior college player toward your ranking.

So if you got 3 or 4 junior college that are ranked high you could be 10 to 15 spots higher on another service.

ESPN at least rates jucos now. But I don't know if it counts in the rankings. That said:
1)Rivals
2)247
3)ESPN
4)Me
5)Scout

They just want to sell subscriptions and advertising space while roping in all of the gullibles who believe their shots in the dark.

The big difference is the CAK guys and the recent recruits. Scout has them as 2-stars. I subscribe to Scout's Inside Tennessee. It seems to me that they consider size the key varible. They will give a small player 2 stars, while telling you he has fantastic skills and can absolutely dominate games. They are not big on mighty mites.

Not always true, Scout had Jacques Smith a five star while others had him a four star because of size. In general, Scout is a little more stingy with the stars than the others, so it seems like they rate us lower when they actiually rate everybody lower.
