I have seen more than enough "we should match talent with oregon because recruiting rankings are similar"

The attrition alone within our program nullifies this argument. HALF OF THOSE RECRUITS ARE NOT EVEN HERE! On top of this these kids are supposed to be seasoned veterans have had three different staffs leading them. The sky isn't falling. Get over yourself. Better times are coming. You have to put the fire out before you can rebuild.

Dude this fire has been burn for 6 seasons. I will burn probably 3 more before it's out and we can 'start rebuilding'. The reality is we are not the same UT and probably never will. Just to much going on we will loose A LOT of talent this off-season and probably wont go to bowl this year so it's going to be awfully hard to put together another recruiting class like have now.

I keep waiting to bottom out, but only to see it sink deeper into the abyss.

Oregon doesn't recruit stars (rankings) they go after guys who fits there system and can run like the wind. Whiel they do have some highly ranked guys (Thomas) for example was the ranked as a 5-star (athlete) out of HS would not be your prototypical running back in the SEC at around 5'9 and maybe 185 pounds.

Take the kid out of the Carolina's who committed to us a couple of days ago. He isn't highly regarded in the rankings but he wowed coaches and others by running in the 4.34-4.36 range in a combine.

This game shows more than ever how much overall team speed needs to be improved, that's why you take a guy who may not be the highest rated but brings elite speed to your team.
