Just wanna give this class a little perspective - just checked Rivals and we are currently 12th, behind the below teams

Clemson, OSU, LSU, bama, A&M, Georgia, Fla, Barn, Okla, Oregon and Michigan

Here is a list with each teams wins the past 5 years and their playoff appearances. Amazing to me we can even try and justify being disappointed in fringe top 10 classes at this point...

Basically, us and A&M are the only teams not to win at least 10 games in a season (and they recruit Texas with a big name coach) Oregon and Florida are the only other teams that had a single season with less than 7 wins and Oregon was in the playoffs in the 14/15 season.

Recruiting highly rated talent has never been our problem, that’s for sure.

I think this class checks a lot of boxes and fills our areas of need. Hopefully we can put together a 9-3 season next year and continue the momentum. It’s pretty clear Pruitt & Co. can develop talent, but we will need to be recruiting on the same level as our biggest rivals if we hope to consistently challenge them.

It’s nuts that a Top 15 class could place you barely inside the Top 10 of the SEC.

Tied with 1 PO team, and the only ones ahead of us are other PO teams and the top SEC teams. Amazing actually that we got there.
Great class. Unfortunately there are six SEC teams ahead of us. and we play at least three of them every year. Damn it’s tough in this conference. We are getting better , on paper anyway. Let’s hope our coaches can make a difference. We really need a quality QB. Maybe we have one coming in. We will see.

Not sure how much better a few of those classes ranked 3 or 4 spots higher really are, and you can only put 11 on the field at a time. We are gaining on them. Just have to keep climbing.

How good this class is ranked doesn't mean much. What matters most is how this class is ranked in 3 or 4 years. I think Pruitt has filled a lot of the needs we have. He can coach up players. We are on our way back. It will just take hard work, desire and patience.

Excellent post. Hopefully more Vol fans will realize and embrace this line of thinking. I believe Pruitt was a little picky with this class. Not that he could be like Dabo or Saban but that he just wasnt going to take any commitment just because he needed bodies. This is a very good sign imo. It shows we are starting to build some quality depth in key areas.

Bailey bump moves us to 8th on rivals... Lol

Has 247 already adjusted their composite rating following Bailey's bump on Rivals, or will that take additional time?

Numbers, rankings, 5*'s, etc............(All are subject to interpretation and can't be evaluated until we see how they are coached, how they improve, and how they play)

With that being said, this staff did a phenomenal job and should be commended with what they are doing in Knoxville. Things are looking quite positive. If this class "hits" like last year's, 2020 (especially '21) could be a very special year for Tennessee.
