The two are very similar in that they both are an organized effort seeking to influence the decision making process of a specific group or individual. When one group feels threatened or begins to lose ground, they will try to drudge up dirt and make the opponent look weak or scandalous, and timing is of the essence with these attacks. The report by the NYT this morning seems eerily similar to an attack piece written during a political campaign, and who better than the NYT. Wonder if we ought to look at hiring a political guru to help out with the recruiting process?

I love how this guy says in his interview on espn that "Tenn has had a TON of violations under Kiffin." He then says the number is 6. Has he not been keeping up with the other programs? It seems a little obvious at this point that some people are just out there to get us and Lane Kiffin.

What happens now is the real question? Also just like a political campaign, when you are attacked you can start the damage control or you can retaliate. If Kiffin retaliates, which I see him doing, he might dig himself a deeper hole. It might be better to let this one fizzle out.
