Well the 2 you gave me don't match your stance

I don't have the exact dates for you, but UK tried to start getting involved with Lyle leading into his senior season, he had been a hot prospect for awhile, he told them to go scratch and was very vocal about it on social media...many posts about "Calipari thinks he can just walk in and offer guys whenever he wants, not me" etc

Exactly. Can't stand that sleeze ball. Carry on. :)

I think the luster has worn off a bit with Calipari . They are obviously going to continue to sign big time talent though

If UK wants a player, Duke is probably the only competition. Calipari the cheating crook he is gets what he wants, the rest of the sec is just playing for 2nd place.

Historically true, but certainly not the case this past class. Cal was scrambling to fill it out.

This. Cal missed on a lot in this years class.

Yet still finished with a top 3 class. Dukes is clearly better, but Cal did a good job getting Murray. It's also worth noting we're probably deeper as a team than ever, prior to a recruiting year. If this was the year we struggled with recruiting, then we picked a good year. Ulis, Hawkins, Poythress, Lee, and Willis are a good five. Maybe a better 5 than Cal has ever had come back. We are weak at PF/C, same as 2011 (I think), but I'm not worried with Murray/Briscoe/Ulis.

Another class of 2017 Canadian just transferred to HHCA, so currently 3 of the top 20 players in Canada for the class of 2017 wil reside an hour from Rick Barnes.

#2 SF Abu Kigab
#7 SG Therren Szmidt
#17 PG Shai Alexander

And Alexander's cousin is #8 Nickiel Alexander-Walker, so good chance he also follows his cousin to HHCA, pretty crazy.

If not Barnes, I'm wondering what has led them or who to that particular prep school out of all the others?

I have a hard time buying that there is absolutely zero connections between the new Tennessee staff and all these Canadians heading to HHCA. It may not be the sole reason, or even a major reason, but we do see more and more Canadians heading to prep schools around the country, and HHCA is becoming a pretty big one, so maybe the timing of Barnes/Lanier ending up here and HHCA getting bigger is just going to work in our favor.
