Why does my age have something to do with everything? My coach was my age when he first started coaching,it has nothing to do with anything

In about 10-15 years, you will understand how naive your current worldview is in relation to reality. I can honestly say, "been there, done that" as someone who is significantly older than you.

A person has to go through it, to know what that truly means.

jerry meyer tweeted today to wes rucker about kid named quentin jackson. apparently he has a new highlight vid out. anyone have link to vid? whats the deal with jackson? we have legit shot at him?

We should have a legit shot with him right? And he is a PG which we desperately need

Right now with the Ncaa stuff hanging over his head it will be hard for him to recruit at a high level for high profile recruits. I think they will be leary of coming here not knowing the outcome.

Hadn't posted anything because up until this point it appeared as very possibly just Internet speculation, but there's a poster on TOS who claims to know Tyndall very well. He has been saying for weeks that Tennessee is going to pull a big name point guard who's currently committed to another school in January or February, he wouldn't say a name but swore by it, well this tidbit from Rob Lewis definitely adds some validity to that...

What would be even more miraculous is if Tyndall and his staff can add some talent in the late spring signing period while working under the NCAA cloud that's not going anywhere for awhile. He and his assistants are certainly trying, if anything, they're probably working harder just to stay involved and in the mix with prospects than they otherwise might.

Obviously, if they do nothing else in the spring, adding a point guard is a priority that can't be overstated. On that front the Vols are heavily involved with Keyvaughn Allen from Little Rock, Ark. The four-star prospect and No.

Allen committed to Florida long ago but neglected to sign with the Gators in November. He remains committed to the Gators, but that seems to be little more than technicality at this point. He's a hot commodity on the recruiting trail and Tennessee has his attention from what we can gather.

Allen is a borderline top 50 prospect that is listed as a SG, but would likely be a point guard at the next level, has been a guy trending upwards in the rankings as well.

KeVaughn Allen

According to VQ Tennessee was also in to scout JUCO PG Brandon Brown, he's averaging 24.5ppg 3.4rpb 5.5apg 36.2%3pt 80.4%ft, he's listed at 5'10" 160lbs so he's more of that smaller quicker breed PG that Tyndall has liked in the past.

Impressive list.

Hope we can land him. That would be a game changer for next year. Good info, BTO. Thanks.

Absolutely, if you can land those 2 guys, Lopez and Bonds return as walk-one, all of a sudden there's some good depth at PG, and you've got talent on the wings in Mostella, Baulkman, Punter and the emergence of Hubbs lately is promising.

KeVaughn is scheduled to visit Tennessee January 10 for the Alabama game(this info should be in War Room next week) and if everything goes well commit to Tennessee. As of now, Tennessee is selling KeVaughn on being the only scholarship PG with Bonds and Lopez backing him up. That could change if somebody on scholarship leaves. They want a PG and Center this spring. There are currently no Center's Tennessee is leading for. They are expecting to look at grad transfers and guys who may come available if other schools make coaching changes.

BTO, have you heard anything about Shawntrez Davis lately? He didn't sign in the fall and was interested enough in Tennessee to visit a couple of times unofficially.

Solid info, appreciate that. That makes sense with the post, with Carmichael and Owens being sophomores next season, and McGhee a likely redshirt freshman, you don't necessarily wanna clog the post with another freshman post, especially if he's not a stud. Bringing in a 5th year guy, or even a Juco big would seem more enticing than a mediocre high school prospect.

Nope, been pretty quiet. Honestly like I said in my post above, I think the staff is gonna prefer a Juco or 5th year big, unless it was a can't miss guy you want let Owens, Carmichael and McGhee develop and produce, not clog scholarships at the same position with 1 class of each other.

With the free agent market that is now the spring, it's a good idea imo, we've got 2 open scholarships current, add Allen and save another for the circus.
