Why does my age have something to do with everything? My coach was my age when he first started coaching,it has nothing to do with anything
What would be even more miraculous is if Tyndall and his staff can add some talent in the late spring signing period while working under the NCAA cloud that's not going anywhere for awhile. He and his assistants are certainly trying, if anything, they're probably working harder just to stay involved and in the mix with prospects than they otherwise might.
Obviously, if they do nothing else in the spring, adding a point guard is a priority that can't be overstated. On that front the Vols are heavily involved with Keyvaughn Allen from Little Rock, Ark. The four-star prospect and No.
Allen committed to Florida long ago but neglected to sign with the Gators in November. He remains committed to the Gators, but that seems to be little more than technicality at this point. He's a hot commodity on the recruiting trail and Tennessee has his attention from what we can gather.
Hadn't posted anything because up until this point it appeared as very possibly just Internet speculation, but there's a poster on TOS who claims to know Tyndall very well. He has been saying for weeks that Tennessee is going to pull a big name point guard who's currently committed to another school in January or February, he wouldn't say a name but swore by it, well this tidbit from Rob Lewis definitely adds some validity to that...
Allen is a borderline top 50 prospect that is listed as a SG, but would likely be a point guard at the next level, has been a guy trending upwards in the rankings as well.
KeVaughn Allen
According to VQ Tennessee was also in to scout JUCO PG Brandon Brown, he's averaging 24.5ppg 3.4rpb 5.5apg 36.2%3pt 80.4%ft, he's listed at 5'10" 160lbs so he's more of that smaller quicker breed PG that Tyndall has liked in the past.
Hope we can land him. That would be a game changer for next year. Good info, BTO. Thanks.
KeVaughn is scheduled to visit Tennessee January 10 for the Alabama game(this info should be in War Room next week) and if everything goes well commit to Tennessee. As of now, Tennessee is selling KeVaughn on being the only scholarship PG with Bonds and Lopez backing him up. That could change if somebody on scholarship leaves. They want a PG and Center this spring. There are currently no Center's Tennessee is leading for. They are expecting to look at grad transfers and guys who may come available if other schools make coaching changes.
Absolutely, if you can land those 2 guys, Lopez and Bonds return as walk-one, all of a sudden there's some good depth at PG, and you've got talent on the wings in Mostella, Baulkman, Punter and the emergence of Hubbs lately is promising.

BTO, have you heard anything about Shawntrez Davis lately? He didn't sign in the fall and was interested enough in Tennessee to visit a couple of times unofficially.
