Came out last night Archie Miller talked to Durham and told him he wanted him at Indiana and to reaffirm his commitment, have to think with that news and offer to Darrington he's the main guy this staff has their eyes set on.

You think Durham was ahead of him?

He wouldn't be in my mind

I'd hold the scholly for next year but that's just me

Holding it seems like a waste. Take a grad transfer, even if he doesn't appear to be a major contributor. He'll give you 5 extra fouls and just may win you a game or two. Lew Evans is a perfect example. Not really a difference maker, but he gave us aome size, took some charges, hit a few big shots, and was the difference in at least one win for us, maybe more.

That's fine. I wouldn't use it on a JUCO or 2017 freshman

Definitely not on a FR. I would use it on the right JUCO. I don't think Darrington is coming here personally....too many cooks in the kitchen at guard. I would take him if he wanted in though if he can shoot as well as his averages suggest he can. We are missing upperclassman experience and a deadeye shooter, and he provides both.

If you can find the right juco or maybe even a freshman then use it but grad transfer seems like the no risk move.

Finding a freshman seems like a really unlikely possibility this late in the game.

Apt assessment. Can you imagine if you had posted this in one other particular thread?

You gotta think one more will leave by December. You already have five freshmen coming in for 2017-2018. I think breaking it up some (because I still think someone else will by December) is the best move, especially if Barnes can get Garland (which is unlikely).
