Recruiting is about to take off

We had 2 former walk ons in the secondary tonight if I’m not mistaken. One of them left the game due to injury.. no idea who his replacement was.
There's some gaps to fill and I'm sure recruiting looks bright. I also give the coaches a huge amount of credit for the improvement.

I am just not convinced as you look back 20 years into the valley of the shadow this team as a whole deserves to be considered one of the least talented.

Oh I agree. I read the OP as it being Heupel’s least talented team. My bad.

I honestly think he was told to leave

Funny you say that. Though I think he left to escape the Pruitt stink, I've had a lingering suspicion Pruitt advised him to go to Bama to enhance his pro draft opportunity. But that's just pure speculation on my part.

Technically he is probably right minus the QB position which is amazing

Yep. And in terms of pure God-given talent, Milton has more than Hooker. So does Nico. That's not to say either or both will be as good as Hooker, but Hooker was coached up and they can be too.

Hooker makes good decisions quickly which may be the product of coaching but in addition he's deceptively fast and has great visibility when running.

Hubbs was talking on his podcast this week about how, when HH first got to Knoxville, he was a dink and dunk QB. He was afraid of making mistakes. In the orange and white game last year, he looked awful and really only hit checkdowns. Heupel and Halzle had to train him to trust his arm, trust the decision-making process that they'd taught him, and let it fly downfield without worrying about bad things happening. So that has everything to do with coaching. Given Heupel's track record with QB's, I expect Joe Milton to be fantastic next year, and Nico after that. Hell, Tayven Jackson has everything you want in terms of raw talent. We're gonna be good there for awhile.
