I was just curious how well Pearl recruits in that area. It seems like there is a lot of talent coming out of there. We (Memphis) had a few players during the Cal era and three right now although one was a JUCO transfer. Mark Fox might be able to start successfully recruiting there if he can show signs of improvement at UGA. Just curious.

Who all is playing for them right now? We got a big time recruit (Jelan Kendrick) from there last season but that was mainly because he played on the Memphis Magic AAU team with the rest of the local kids.

Well my AAU team played them over summer.. They have Kevin Ware a TN commit, and a few other big time '12 prospects that are great but names escape me...

Havent heard a lot about Ware. My only quality recruiting info comes from players Memphis is interested in and players from the Mid-south. Seems like he could be a nice acquisition though. always good to have a pipeline with some AAU franchises.

I believe Kevin Ware is from Conyers. (Already a UT commit)

I believe Trae Golden and McRae were on the Celtics AAU team together. Tatum and Kenny Hall are from GA as well.

I hear the Celtics are the premier AAU team from ATL. Always helps getting players when you already have a few on the team.

I think we're recruiting C Tony Parker in Lithonia, GA very hard (6'9" 265 lbs) in the 2012 class. No. 11 center on Scout.

Atlanta is going to be extremely important for our future recruiting efforts. Our staff, assuming no further sanctions are imposed, have an in on great GA talent and should continue to do well there.

I think Pearls success is indeed directly linked to how well he can recruit in ATL. I think he spends too much time in Memphis. Im not saying he should give up completely but he needs to start being able to cherry pick one or two here instead of devoting so much time to receive so few. He did a good job with Chris Jones though

Parker, a Georgia 2012 recruit, is looking at Duke very hard and many think they lead for his services. He attending Countdown to Craziness last weekend with a bunch of big time recruits. It looks like one of Duke's 2011 Centers has decommitted, so it's opened a spot for a Center recruit in the 2012 class. I know Parker really likes Tennessee and at one time we were considered the front runner, but Duke will be nearly impossible to compete with if they are serious about him. It's like Duke attempting to compete with Tennessee for football recruits (see Brendan Downs/Mack Crowder and soon to be Cam Clear).
