I just noticed that we only have one commit under 6'1" and that is Palardy our kicker. Any reason for this or is this just coincindence this year?

That is a lot of size and I like it!

Seriously though, the only position that typically has people under 6' is the DB's and that hasn't been a real focus this year.

So thats why nobody offered me out of High School. Either that or I couldn't play. I'm not sure.

I noticed that too. It's glaringly obvious at WR where we have 3 commits and all are over 6'2.

No, just look at the old USC lines and wideouts

I think that height has been an emphasis when recruting, and this is a one reason.

Just look at 07 and 09 classes, we had 10 and then 11 recruits at 6 ft and under in those classes.

Cody Riggs and Dyer would both break that trend up a bit and the staff would love to have them but think about this on defense, Coach Monte Kiffin loves taking thinner guys and filling them out with muscle and moving them up a position like from safety to LB or LB to DE etc.

Also Orgeron is great at picking out the kids who can grow in his weight program.

I agree with you that having fast and tall kids is going to be great. We have a whole class of Patrick Turners right now.

Well, not to be mean or anything but if you can't spell widereceiver you probably can't play it either.:)Sorry.

Great points, my thoughts as well.

Yeah, but I think it's good to have a mix. Get bigger receivers to go over the middle of the field, and then get smaller, faster recievers to break deep. Of course you can move guys around. But a combination of bigger and smaller recievers is best.

Incorrect. I highly doubt the ability of ted ginn and percy harvin to spell receiver. But they sure can ball

It's no mistake at all. 2 years ago my brother was on the sidelines for a USC practice and called me. First thing out of his mouth was "Even the G.D. kickers are 6'4"!"
