Do the Vols rise from ashes? I ask because UGA burned everything to the ground. How does that happen? Losing to Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Wyoming, Memphis are bad enough, but I cannot remember a more humiliating defeat and I've been more or less paying attention for quite awhile. OK maybe 31-0 in Jackson to Ole Miss and Archie, but that was an away game.

I haven't watched nearly as long as you, but two Saturdays ago was the worst game I have ever seen Tennessee play.

We had some miserable losses during that period between 2008 through 2013, but I could explain those because of the coaching and roster turmoil. I honestly allowed myself to believe we were past that point in Tennessee history, until the Georgia game. The worst part was knowing that the talent on the field was good enough to give Georgia a competitive game.

I hope we rise from the ashes. I hate losing SEC games because I hate all of these other teams for various reasons. But I don't think we will.

We'll see. I'll be pulling for our boys today!

Does anyone else think that the more likely reason Gruden is in town would be to meet with Butch about the benefits of being a part of the FFCA?

I have had this odd feeling Clemson's bubble was going to start bursting at some point this season. They still have a tough schedule left. GT, NC State, FSU and South Carolina all will give them fits if they play in those games liked they played against Syracuse. And if they make the ACC championship, there is no guarantee they beat whoever comes from the other side.

Once you let a little air out of the balloon, it gets hard to keep it all in.

We'll see. Too early to tell for sure right now.

Got to pull for the players, I agree. Hope they come out today to prove something. Doesn't matter who the coach is if they are winning.

I should disqualify a coach for his last name being Frost then(see how dumb that is). What if his first name was Dabo or hell Butch(which is horrid BTW) is it better than Dino? Are you hiring names or coaches? He's got more top 10 wins than us. I think you all short change him around here. We could've had Taggart before Butch Jones and we wouldn't be dealing with this garbage.....

Dabo and Butch are better names than Dino IMO. He's not a better coach than Frost.

Judging coaching prospects on week to week performance is a dangerous game.

Butch beat USCe’s best team in its program history in year one at UT, ended the streak with Florida, almost beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, had us on an 11 game win streak at one point, and has won three straight bowls. And we want him fired.

Have to judge coaching over a much longer time period.

With that said, bring on Babers!!

UT will only pay big money for a big name, and there aren't that many of them. If we go with an up-and-comer, admin will be looking to pay market value. UT wants to keep it quiet until we have the MOU and avoid another Charlie Strong situation. That was poorly handled. I think we'll be more buttoned up this time.

There's too many people evaluating these coaches week by week. 24 hours anyone mentioning Babers would've been laughed at relentlessly.
