When Butch Jones gets fired how many recruits out of this recruiting class are likely to stay? Obviously it depends on who we hire but I haven't followed football closely for long enough to know what it's going to look like for our recruiting class. Anyone have any idea?

Heard today Butch's buyout shrinks quite a bit if we miss a bowl game.

If true he won't get fired until after Vandy at the earliest.

Spoke with Currie and he's said he's gonna wait just to pizz you off for spelling his name with Y.

He's hardcore like that.

He’s just interested in when he can start IF it does occur. He’s still not sure he wants to coach college, but I found it nice that he’s not all doom and gloom tonight.

Buyout allegedly is being negotiated

If both parties feel the burn from missing a bowl is too much on both sides, they will compromise

Also, think about list revenue from missing a bowl. It’s not so simple

Unless they negotiate his buyout down to be what it would be if we miss a bowl game, and he resigns immediately after Bama to try to save face.

The 'Grumors' are growing: Could Jon Gruden become the Vols' next coach?

I probably should have known this but I didn’t realize Currie was involved in targeting Gruden back when Fulmer was fired in 2008. The plot thickens for me.

I will be honest. I didn’t believe the Grumors in 2012. I’m much more likely to believe them now. I think (hope) CBJ is our Mike Shula. The last in a string of mediocre coaches that makes our administration realize we need to go big to be relevant again. Believe our chances of getting JG are low, but I don’t think they are zero. Far from it.

Which is why Butch will be here all year or at least till we’re no longer in Bowl contention.
