Do y'all think people literally just make up these things they claim they hear about Gruden?

Or is it more of a case of they hear one tid bit from someone they're connected with, but stretch the truth about it when they post it online? Just trying to wrap my pea brain around it.

Yep. I followed it pretty closely in 2012. Right down to following the sports reporter from Chattanooga who said it was signed, sealed and delivered and that he got confirmation from the Big Guy himself (which was governor Haslam). I'm not buying into it at all this time, and honestly think there are better college coach options out there.

This is a lazy narrative. Butch did a good job of assembling a talented team for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He deserves credit for that. But any coach worth his salt wins 9+ regular season games in 2015 and 10+ in 2016. Not doing either of those things was a massive failure indicative of him being bad at his job.

If he'd hit those benchmarks, fans would let him get away with all his stupid cliche and self-help book catchphrases no problem.
