Starting to wonder if he’s leaving too. Maybe he wants out of this conference? Maybe he’s tired of the screw jobs his team keeps getting in this conference and has said screw it.
I hope he doesn't go anywhere. Despite the inconsistencies on offense, I'm not that worried about that side. We had a lot of new guys and young guys playing. Joey was a nice surprise but still has some limitations. Heupel has to make a change on defense. It's going to be interesting to see what happens because Danny White won't just sit by and risk the football program going backwards.

Anyone remember when JH got hired here and the main concern was him hiring his coaching tree and promoting within 👀🤔 i think we need try a different angle
I gave him a pass for hiring Banks because evidently no one wanted the job. I've been preaching for three years that he wasn't qualified and should be replaced. Of course I've been taken behind the wood shed yet again for that opinion but yet here we are, again.

I still think something is up with this team. I'm not sure what it is.
:( You worrying me. We played so well against Florida in Swamp, I don't think 8-4 is horrible considering Joey came in the spring and we lost our best defensive players. Maybe Heupel got his foot out the door because our fans act like LSU with no patience. Or they have forgotten what we went through for the last 20 years and how much good Heupel has done in the few years he's been here. (Number one in the country, top offense all the time, beating Florida in Swamp, Alabama twice, going to the playoffs, etc)

I'll back you up on fahring Banks if you back me up on calling these cheating alabama refs out

Going against the grain in here speaking logic will get you flamed for sure but it’s games like this where it all comes to the surface and you come out smelling like a rose..like😭😂🤣🤣

I like Heup. I do. He’s a “nice guy” but that’s the problem. He doesn’t have the fire and killer instinct this conference needs.

I can’t ignore what he has done for this school and where we have come from over the last 10-15 years, but he’s not going to take this team to the elite level. I’d put my 401k down on that. But then again, Danny White and UT may have no aspirations of being on top as long as they are taking in money.

You know him personally? Or what you see on tv?

That waiting list for season tickets might get a little shorter this season

Hope Aguilar is back next year, make some major staff changes and hit the portal hard in the offseason.

Nahhhhhh we need to build for the future get the guy who earns it in the system with live ball reps and mold him with how NIL and everything going on right now in the NCAA it will be hard to convince a highly ranked qb to come here just to sit…you’re not even factoring in the recruits we may lose after this bad loss..I hope it stays together but this is a huge stain on JH’s legacy here..

No

if you can't see what happens when a former alabama alumni shows up, then I'm sick of explaining to you what your eyes are seeing.

There were 2 DPIs on that drive they let go.

Tonight was not the night to try to "reason" with me. We've played like crap this half but the birmingham refs are crooked.
All good. We just got whipped tonight. Good teams overcome calls that go against you. Honestly if they called more penalties on them, with our defense they would have still picked up the first down. Our defense has more holes than Swiss cheese. This was an embarrassing game by Heupel and the team. I just hate it because this place is going to be unbearable and in all honesty there is really no good excuse for what we put on the field today. I still really like Heupel but he's going to have to do something different or it's going to start going in the wrong direction. He just seems different this year. On to basketball and then to baseball.

I mean yeah that's true. But what evidence do you have that we don't develop talent? Especially on defense. Byron Young? James Pearce? Norman-Lott? Jaylen McCullough had 4 picks last year. Most of those guys were staring down the barrel at being car salesmen before Heupel. Also, did we forget that our defense was #7 in the country last year? It was in the 100s when those guys were freshmen. And this team is way more talented than they were in 2021. I'm not defending Tim Banks, just arguing the point that we don't develop

I mean, even the Bob Shoop years had some one off examples of good players who one could argue developed some under him. JRM, Cam Sutton, Barnett, Corey Vereen, Gaulden, Moseley, etc. They were the exception to the rule, though, and the stats showed it.

Tim Banks has had us inside the top 25 defensively once in five years if I’m not mistaken. That’s not good enough. Being this bad in year five is an indictment on player development, roster management, and scheming. He’s gotta go along with a position coach or two if we’re going to maximize the abilities of guys like Perlote, Ross, and Redmond.
