Going off the two bowl games under Butch, and on our somewhat increase in health, I'll go with 41-13, with their last 7 coming in garbage time.

Butch has taken us from the cellar of the east to 7 wins to 9 wins to what should be a minimum of 10 wins, maybe more this year. We have been in the top 10 three weeks so far this year. We could climb back in it before the end of the year. We have suffered what is probably the most severe injury epidemic of any team in the modern era, yet we have only suffered one embarrassing loss, and that to the best team in the land. And you guys always seem to have something negative to say.

Maybe we should focus more on the positives and the good things to come. Are we perfect? No. Can there be improvement in places? Of course. But Butch has us in a vastly better place than we've been in in 10-15 years.

While we're somewhat healthier, we're still missing some major cogs, especially on defense. It's an away game against a SC team that seems to always play us tough. Even last year with an interim coach at our house, the game came down to the wire.

Even Butch will tell you, there are no easy SEC games. We are razor thin and I suspect because of that, it will be a conservative game plan. There is nothing negative about what I said.

sam - thank you for including me in the elite company of InVOL and Cat even if it was a stereotype born from your frustration with anybody that looks at the program differently. InVOL and I have lived here and seen it all over a lot of years. The hype simply does not work for us.

Cat has correctly predicted the W/L column much more than anybody else on here. If that makes him negative so be it. It is at least the truth. Team 120 is one play away in two separate games from having lost more than it has won. What would your opinion of any negative comments be if that had happened?

Team 120 has yet to actually play a full game. All you have to do is look at the offensive production in the first half of all 7 games. The D is decimated with injuries. The O is performing poorly as are the related coaches not named Gillespie. The O injuries have been normal season stuff and the overall roster depth should have already been developed over 4 seasons of recruiting.

They have 5 games to redeem themselves and finish as I predicted, 10-2. If you scroll to the first page I stated 45-14 for this game. Hardly negative predictions. My perceived negative comments relate to changes Butch needs to make to get the program to elite status we all want to see achieved.

Thank you for your rational comments.

As I said in another thread, we are of course not a perfect program. But it gets old seeing some posters being incessantly negative and having almost nothing positive to say.

One point about your post though. We are also one play away from being 6-1. Gotta look at things positively 😎☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️😎

Predicting records isn't the main cause of Catbone being negative.

Constantly expecting the worst. And giving up on the Vols at the slightest bit of adversity in a game are big contributors, though.

I like cat. And I suspect some of his negavolism is showmanship. But sometimes his negativity becomes a little too much, especially when emotions are high.

Oh and by the way I too would like to see Mahoney gone (sorry glicht). But I'm also not gonna harp on it at every opportunity. I think most of us are disappointed in OL development.

Well said.

For me personally, I see negativity as a cop out. Seeing the pile of crap is easy. Finding the diamond buried in it takes effort.

While I agree that just winning no matter the score is fine, I sure would like to win big these last 5 games. My heart is tired of these nail biters. Also, it would ge nice so that we can try keep everyone healthy and rested for Dec 3rd, if Florida loses one more.

They threw the ball and got a couple first downs, burned some clock and only then did they run the ball when the clock was down enough to make Mass. use their time outs. Then it was victory formation. If we get the ball in the same situation we run the ball 3 times into the line.
