I was thinking that Spurrier was in a good spot in the East then. He did have a team that finished at the top but maybe we didn't beat them that year or it was at our house.
Yea we beat them the year before in Neyland when they had a good squad

@KingVFL are you allowed to tell us now?
Heard practiced earlier in the week. Ankle apparently got worse and was in a boot by Wednesday. I don’t think there’s some major story here. He’ll be back for Arkansas.

I will say our offensive line situation is completely untenable though. Playing a full half with Dayne Davis and Larry Johnson as your tackles is a real problem.

Thank you for the update. Listening to some of the postgame shows hinting that there was something else going on with Heard was ridiculous.

are we going to throw the entire budget at OL in the portal this offseason?

Sucks. Heard and Campbell have to stay healthy, and it's a long season. I'm surprised by how bad Davis was for being such a veteran guy. Do we have any other potential options that can get game ready in a pinch for mid-to late-season?

You can’t build OL depth through the portal over the long-term. It’s gotta be in high school. It’s why losing Utu sucks so much

We like Warren, Ginther, Perry and JHeard as prospects quite a bit. I don’t think we want to be relying on any of them in the playoffs but maybe they surprise with development. Feel like Perry might be closest.

@drylo

Can we get a gif of that Heup dance at the end, please?

*That's how you get a team to the CFB National Championship. The head coach with his heart and soul into it and all his players know it, see it, and most importantly feel it. Heupel's building teams that are battle tested, prepared, and truly love and fight for each other. It's a beautiful thing.

IMO...one of the top 2-3 best coached games of the Heupel era.
Agreed. I've been impressed with him for obvious reasons, but his ability and willingness to make an adjustment like that...

Quite the departure from 'we do what we do'mentality some previous coaches had.
