we didn't even have a run defense yesterday period... my wife kept asking, "why is TN just watching and letting the kid just get the ball and run right around the corner of the line or left around the corner of the line and no one goes after him... He gets like 5-8yds every time!?"

It was sporadic and uneven, but we finished only allowing 3.5 YPC, 1 full yard below what we averaged for the day. It got better over the course of the game.

Then you missed how many sacks and TFLs we had. Those big defensive, "table turning" plays were critical. I remember one drive we hit the QB so well that he came out on 2nd down with the worst throw of the day and then another whiff on 3rd down.

We really did lay some hard hits on em today. So many times we were throwing them backwards behind the line. Just need more consistency, which will come from getting healthy.

TN gave some hard hits but are lucky they won the game with all the mistakes made...

Is it me or was that game similar to the ‘22 game against Pitt?

Had that thought last night. I personally was very frustrated in both and was mostly just relieved we escaped. Felt the same last night.

‘22 Pitt was a launching pad. Can this be the same?

That’s awesome also… kinda concerning that we had that many people there so the crowd noise couldn’t of been that bad…

Also, if it is then disban the cowbells because their is no difference in that and pumping in crowd noise.

My response was to a post saying Heupel win against MSU was a game he shouldn’t have won.
I was sober when I posted it and I am now when I back up my post!
100% still believe we are better than MSU and should of won the game.
We played the worst game of the year by far, got robbed of 7 by the refs and still won,
So yeah I believe we should of won by 14.

If you don’t, then you don’t think we are more than an average team.

Well, to be fair, sack yardage helped that.

But yes. The defense wasn't as bad as it felt in the moment.

That's awesome. On some game replays you could get glimpses of how much ORANGE was there but I don't remember them ever panning over the VOL crowd.

I don't know why the SEC NETWORK wouldn't show the "visitors" side of the stadium.

*Actually, I do know. It's because our rivals have alumni working at ESPN. It's the same reason why they cut away from our Syracuse game when there was time left and why we can never get replays of questionable flags thrown against us.

Which was effectively a punt in that situation. Honestly the biggest issues I’ve had on Joey throws are under thrown deep balls, which Brazzell went up and got anyway. Got lucky the other day at the end of regulation. Can’t do that.

Under thrown deep balls are the by design, caught or high chance of DPI.
