'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Mississippi State vs Tennessee Pre-game/Game Thread

Mathews catching that and Brazzell doesn’t get robed. Joey would have thrown for well over 400 yards. Crazy.
Brazzell is "Mossing" all the DBs, all-America, imo. Matthew is still the best YAC WR on this team, runs like a RB with the ball in his hands, just needs to cut out the drops. I think Brazzell is a 1st round pick and Matthews could eventually be, too. Staley had a bad game, but still fought his a$$ off to get that 1st down in the 4th quarter. We are loaded at WR and next year"s WR recruits are elite. The original WRU is back.

Joey's poise in the pocket is the straw the stirs the drink. I'm hoping Joey is the new "Ice-Man".
1-0 on the road and has the chance to win in Tuscaloosa and Gainesville, just like Casey did

I understand bad takes, heat of battle craziness, especially if you're drinking, but...

Some of you poor bastards...HOLY SH!T!!! 😳🤯

I can't see how the hell you even get out of bed each day?? I doubt some of you do.
Football is an outlet for many. Just a chance to blow off steam. It comes out differently in different people. It’s not necessarily indicative of their life.

All I know is we’re 4-1.

You can assign whatever meaning to it you desire.

Curious tho, what was your projection for this team before the season started? Before ever seeing Joey throw a pass in a Vols uniform?
Exactly. This is suppose to be a down year. Our 5 star quarterback went to UCLA.

And to add to my comment about Blitzing… when is the last time we sent a corner blitz? We used to send those the first couple of years and have guys come flying in out of nowhere. What has happened to those blitzes?
Against GA. Banks dialed up a corner blitz and it just so happens to be on a WR screen and it gashed us. Unlucky timing

Don’t need to. We had 11 TFLs and 5 sacks.

We have 20 sacks on the year.

Lots of debate on social media on whether Banks' defense won the game or could have lost the game in allowing MSU's offense move the ball and score.... with ease at times. How often can a team depend on a pick 6 or a scoop and score to win games? Or should a team rely on a solid defense that can stop drives and force punts?

We got after their QB just bringing 4, but Sometimes I think Banks does rely too much on only bringing the front 4 and doesn’t get creative enough in his blitz packages or giving different looks.
