Hi, Heupel Homer here 🙋‍♂️

That said, I can be all in on Heupel and also call out when Heupel makes big-game mistakes. Today’s loss wasn’t all on him. Injuries got us like I was afraid they would and Banks probably called one of the most head scratching games since he’s been here. But Heupel does still deserve to shoulder a lot of blame as well, especially in the 4th quarter. His conservative play calling after the fumble killed our momentum. And then his decision to try and center the ball made sense, but why you don’t call a TO after the screw up to just chat with your kicker is beyond me. Or at the very least try to gain some of that yardage back with a run up the gut.

Anyways, Heupel’s still a Hell of a coach and anyone toying with the idea of watching him walk is a moron.
Banks is so bad. 3rd and Banks is bad enough but 4th and Banks is free every time. I’m rejoicing every time opposing coaches decide to punt no matter the line to gain or location on the field.

The rush game has been fine except for UGA. So when someone says “big boys,” they mean UGA. We ran for 214 last year against Bama. The passing game was the barrier the last 2 years.
Nevermind that Georgia perennially has the best front seven in college football....that doesn't matter.

You are NEVER going to just steamroll that front seven...at least until you get 5 legitimate 5* upperclassmen OL to run behind.

If you don't take the kick on 3rd down, you leave the door open for any number of preventable mistakes that you can't get back (bad snap, bad hold, etc). I wish the ball was centered and if we were in 2nd down, he probably would have done that. Just didn't work out.

Coulda woulda shouldas don't make football losses any easier. That games over, we got another one to focus on. Then another one after that. Pretty soon our all American corner and space-eater DT will be back. This is not the finished product of the 2025 football team. It's just the beginning. I saw our team do things we haven't done in a long time today. Gonna be a fun year.

You strive for perfection knowing that no one is perfect. More good than bad. We aren’t in the game without the master class of offensive play calls in the 1st and 4th quarters. It’s clear that he trusts JA to run an offense like 2022 again.
All this can be true and the following can also be true:

We most likely win the game after recovering the fumble and run the offense like it’s 2022,

Where’s our best RB on them 3 plays?
Where’s the JA trust on them 3 plays?
The fumble was the break we were hoping for, why did it look like a junior high school game on them three plays?

If any team loses more than 5 primary players on defense they’d start losing games too. Redmond will be fine, and McCoy should be back soon ish
Redmond better be better, because I GUARANTEE you they are all going to go at him over and over and over again.

I do not blame the kid...he is a 3* true freshman playing one of the most critical positions in football, but if he doesn't play better than this in the other SEC games, we are toast.

I don't think he absolutely sucked..but his play was a huge reason we lost.

You gonna call him out for putting 41 on the best defensive coach in CFB with the most loaded defense in CFB?

Everything he did was logical and sound.

Impressive feat and he did a good job. But I’m also not going to sit here and like he didn’t screw the pooch when it mattered. I can still be impressed and supportive of Heupel’s abilities while critiquing him when it’s necessary to do so.

Like I’ve posted, ask the coaches if that’s what they wanted. Heupel sure didn’t act like it. Just because a play was run doesn’t mean that’s what the staff wanted. We also had a fans start. It’s 4th and short without it.

We slowed down in 2022 in parts of the Pitt, and UF games and still won.
