I see all these high scores for Auburn and scratching my head since our D has really played well and Auburn's O has struggled about as much as ours has.
That’s what I’m thinking. What has Auburn done offensively this year? And our D has been pretty good. If our O doesn’t turn the ball over and can give the D some breathers with a few first downs then this will be a close game.

After a couple losses that ends their title hopes, I can see this turning into last year's bowl game for Auburn. They don't show up, and Tennessee puts a full game together.

24 - 17 Good guys

Mississippi State rushed for almost 400 yards on Auburn, including 195 from their QB on 28 carries. Obviously we don't have an OL as good as MSU but the blueprint is there for victory. If I'm Pruitt, I spend all week game planning with JG and a few others to play wildcat (JJ, Chandler, Banks, etc) and run the ball with play action down the field. Bring in a 6th and 7th OL and grind it out. Hell, McBride can run a bit, bring him in some. Whatever, just keep the ball on offense and move down field. MSU had the ball for 48 of the 60 minutes the other day. GRIND IT OUT!

Pruitt's going to take my advice and get a huge win on the road. He knows he can get a signature year one win this weekend. He's a gamer...27-17 Vols.
Put JJ in the wild cat and let him throw it a time or two.

They should consider moving this game to Neyland given what Hurricane Michael is projected to do. It looks like a very dangerous storm, and puts the significance of this mere game into better perspective. It is projected to be gone by Saturday, but first responders and other infrastructure resources may still be needed elsewhere in lower Alabama.

Tennessee does not score double digits against that D, Auburn O does just enough. We see it as a moral victory. 13-6.

I agree with you about the total score, but right now I see it as 13-6 Tennessee. Pruitt has had Malzahn’s number several times. With a bye week I expect no less. Game depends on AU defense’s determined mindset to will the team to a win. I’ll digest what I hear this week and reevaluate later.

if we hold Auburn to 6 points, we definitely win.

don't think so. thought i heard or read somewhere he's been in on special teams some? but apparently not ready yet to go 100% at safety.

One of the guys said on Fox Sports Knox earlier that he had heard TK Jr was pretty much ready to go a couple weeks ago, but they wanted to hold him out through the bye to be safe. Did not quote a source.

On the 10th anniversary of the worst offensive game I have ever seen played, I predict Tennessee will avenge that loss on the Plains with a 14-12 win.

Dear God, has it really been since 1999 that we last beat Auburn? I went to that game back when I didn't have any kids. Now I have one in college.

My fear is that Kentucky exposed UF and we were supposed to run all over them.

So now State exposes the Barn. Will they fix it just in time for our game?

If they do stuff the run, will we adjust to attack through the air?

the only thing i'd say to that is, Auburn had just gotten exposed (sort of) by LSU too....and they didn't have it fixed for MSU....

Yeah, I just really liked the bit about the contract. I guess in our case it would be the '98 highlight DVD. Truth is we hope we at where Aubbie is.

Ah the good ol days.
or...the precursor to the dark times.

i think Auburn, while still good, is in a precarious spot. GA is getting better, Bama is Bama....you just lost to LSU and MSU.....Mullen has things going early at FL....a nemesis for you at Bama is now the head man at TN, Jimbo is at aTm.

i think Auburn is in a very similar spot we were in back in those days.

the SEC shifted and left Fulmer and TN in the dust wtih Saban, Richt, Meyer, Malzahn etc...and the L's starting piling up.

but on the surface, things were fine...we won the East in 04 and 07, but there were signs things were not as good as they appeared...

and i'm saying there maybe some signs right now at Auburn.....the conference is shifting again. is auburn getting passed?
