Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

Your right I did stir the pot
After 15 years I know what’s behind the curtains sometimes
Asking someone a simple question shouldn’t be an issue but posters like you are the problem, putting guys up on pedestals and then slamming coaches and players when the ā€œinsiderā€ is wrong or never had any info to begin with…. Some insiders are great and dascoop may be great.

Glad you admitted your intention.

Your quote of 'posters like me are the problem' made me laugh. Check my stats 😁. (Yeah I was here for that) So thanks for the chuckle, I needed it today actually.

Now, let's hopefully get Legend Bey and back to his discussion, not yours.

Worth the watch. I can't imagine it isn't also happening at some scale in some rural Tennessee counties.
And yet plenty of backwards-looking folks want to keep things illegal and fuel profits for US crime rings, as well as foreign cartels.

Absurdity at its finest.

Legalizing it in half the country hasn't mitigated the black market problem. As long as taxes and regulations are part of something, there will always be a black market for it. Legalization isn't the issue. Unregulated, untaxed black market product is so much cheaper, so that's where a lot of people still get their drugs, whether in legal states or not.

Bingo. Absurd taxation. They aren't treating it equally.

Nobody (or very few) go to illegal distilleries because alcohol sales tax is the same as anything else (at least where I am).

Politicians see it as a cash grab and kill the entire premise.

I believe if they let it be, like alcohol, then people would not be incentivized to go to the black market. For all dr*gs. Regulation, as you point out, matters too. But you get clean, "safe" alcohol for a tad more and I think people would do the same for regulated weed, etc, especially if lacing or chemicals are a problem.

But no, let's just keep pouring $$$ into criminal gangs. As they flood the US with cartel members as well...

They tax alcohol like crazy lol. Your ever looked at your receipt? It's one of the highest taxed goods (like tobacco) in the country.

And the weight of liquid is much much higher, smuggling black market alcohol wouldn't be feasible because it weighs too much. Super light weight drugs are worth the risk because you get many many more dollars per ounce. If powdered alcohol ever became a thing, it would absolutely be on the black market due to high taxes.

Will be filling that one away for later, thank you sir 🫔

Have you never watched True Detective Season 1. That and Band of Brothers are probably the 2 best individual seasons of a tv show. Lost Season 1 was also incredible but I’m referring to a 1 season storyline.

I've only seen the last season with Jodie Foster in Alaska

A total mess

Bring me all the big uglies! Osenda, Shabazz, Blair and Baker is a monster haul.

Throw in Darius Gray for fun too and that's easily the best OL class in the country.

Doesn’t make sense, I’ve been told GE can’t recruit and is the worst and is only on staff due to being Heup’s buddy.

I mean, he’s been here 5 years now and this’ll be the first year one of the guys he’s recruited starts on the OL. So I’m sure you can understand why there are concerns with his recruiting. Especially when coupled with how guys like AP (who some of yall swear by) has repeatedly stated his personality doesn’t really resonate with recruits.

Lance Heard doesn’t count as a recruit? That metric is gonna have to change bc the portal is a thing. And while that’s not the best example bc he struggled, still think that metric has to change.

People get concerned about every coach in every sport for any reason. People were concerned TV couldn’t manage a pitching staff. Concerned Tim Banks was a dud for a few years. Concerned WM was a bad coach (then he got better players and look what happened). Concerned Rick Barnes couldn’t recruit.
