I've had SlingTV for the last 8 months or so. Football season was the thing I was mostly worried about in the switch. But with WatchESPN I could watch every Vols game except the CBS games. But I have an antenna which allowed me to watch those.
It takes some getting used to. I still miss my DVR. I used to record almost every game (especially the basketball games) and watch it later so I could FF through commercials. That luxury is gone at this point. But I like my bill a whole lot more. Most importantly, I don't feel trapped paying way too much for a million channels I don't watch.
There's a few channels I wish I had, like NFL Network. But as far as TV goes, the combination of Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix lets me watch almost any show or movie I want.
The best thing is, the shows that don't come on these networks (Game of Thrones for example) are all the most easily available to stream or torrent for free things on the internet outside of live sporting events. As long as you know how the internet works you can get rid of a TV altogether pretty much.
