We all have personal beliefs or theories on things. He stated "this is my own personal belief and no one else's" prior to the comments. The pyramid comments were from 1998. Hell they are no crazier than some people on the history channel stating aliens built them or they are maps.

For someone you call brilliant, it is one of the dumbest theories I've ever heard in my life. There is no scientific proof that the pyramids were built to store grain. He makes me laugh almost as much as trump though, I'll give him that!

For once in a long time I'd like to vote for someone because I like what they say and have confidence they'll follow through with what they say instead of voting for the best of the worst.

Every president says what they're "going" to do. Congress is the real problem. That's a whole mess to actually get anything done. Lobbyist paying congress members off like crazy all the time. It's amazing anything actually gets done..

Yet those people aren't running for president.

Hillary will be the next President.

If that happens, I leave the country.

There are two candidates that ABSOLUTELY must not win and that is Trump and Hilary. One of them wins and not only will it spell disaster for America, but also the disturbances in America will lead to worldwide unrest. I think it could be a contributing factor to a potential WW3.

Don't know if you like what he says (though I very very much do) but Cruz at least fits your second stipulation. He follows through with what he says and what he believes. He doesn't back down.

74vol said earlier that the word is he is the most hated man among in his own party [establishment]. To me, that only adds to what I love about him. He doesn't just fall In line to the party leadership. He is about truth. At least truth as he understands it. And his view of it lines up very closely to mine, personally.

Pyramids. That is all. I think the whole GOP party is a joke. Most of the Democrats too. The only one I'm interested in is Bernie. He has kept super pacs and big money out of his campaign. I respect him not being a bought candidate.

Don't understand what the pyramids thing has to do with his ability to run our country at all. Also is what he said proveable either way? Even if it is/was, it's not a matter of policy and he isn't dogmatic about it, condemning anyone who disagrees with him. So what is the harm? Doesn't disqualify him as a candidate at all.

My top 5.

1) Cruz
2) Rubio
3) Carson
4) Paul
5) Fiorina

Oh goodness, Catbone and I are close to agreeing on something. Haha. I may need to re-evaluate....

My list is a little different, though...

1) Cruz

2) jindal

3) Carson

4) Paul
5) Rubio
6) fiorina

I can't decide completely on Rubio.

I like him. And he does very well in the debates. But I don't know. I still think he could end up just continuing a lot of the same ol' same ol'. And end up not fixing our spending/debt problem. Maybe slow it down some. But not reverse it. We need more serious real cuts. Cruz would deliver, IMO. And not capitulate to the establishment

I don't get what the pyramids have to do with anything about running for President.

Destroying emails and lies about an attack on Benghazi should be a focus instead of pyramids.

Infadelity in one's household another. Can't run a home but going to run a country.

To be clear, I'm not endorsing anyone, my job forbids it. However, I'm pretty good at predicting what will happen. Fairly confident Hillary will be President.

Can you expound on reasons why? Not calling you out. Just wondering what your thinking is on it.

She is so, so dishonest and untrustworthy. She has been proven to be so.

I agree she could somehow win (frustrating that it's even a possibility. But we are where we are as a society and country). But wondering why you seem so confident.

Republicans have to go so far to the right to get the nomination that they will have trouble coming back to the center in a general election. Whereas Hillary has already positioned herself as a moderate in comparison to Sanders.

Also, the demographics of the country favor the Democrats more and more. After the Republicans lose this election, they will have to do some serious soul searching to figure out how they can win a national election.

I haven't followed the democrat primary as much as the republican. But from the news I have gotten on it, she sounds like she has gotten much farther left than she used to be and much farther left than her husband was.

As far as the demographics, it's tough to argue with that. And that definitely concerns me.

As far as the nominee needing to come back to the center, I hope they don't do that too much. We need a good clear debate on left and right policies. And I think if a good clear communicator that can unapologetically explain conservative principles gets the nomination (such as Cruz. Rubio is also a good communicator), we have a shot to make up ground and change the mindset of some of the American people who usually just vote for democrats just because that's what they and their family always have done and that's what the media pushes for, even though liberal policies are tearing this country apart and down.

Anyways I sincerely hope you're wrong dust

I would agree that Rubio and Bush (even though he doesn't excite Republicans) have the best chance to win a general. Also I think Carly would have a chance. Trump, Carson, and Cruz would get curb stomped imo.

I'm ready to see some Republican primaries and see who makes it out.

Paul is the only Republican running for office that isn't allergic to nuance. I like how he pointed out that China wasn't involved with the TPP, which I was screaming at my TV. I like how he points out that more defense spending doesn't make us more secure, even though that is not a popular thing to say in front of Republicans. Even though I don't really believe a minimalist government is the best approach in today's world, at least he has thought things through.

On defense spending, if all of the countries in the world banded together (no nukes involved) and attempted to attack the USA, I'm honestly not sure who would win. People need to realize that economy is a primary factor in our long term security and there needs to be a balance in defense spending.

I like Rand and would vote for him if he wins the nomination. But I don't think he will get it

Pretty sure I would go third party if bush wins. Trump too.

I disagree on your take on Cruz. I think he would dominate, I mean absolutely destroy, hilary in debates. The question would be if enough of the voters would even pay attention or if they would just tune out and remain ignorant on issues and just pull the lever to brag that they voted, and that they voted for hilary Clinton.

Carson does make me nervous in the way he communicates and debates. I agree with him on almost everything. But I just don't think he is clear on getting his points across (maybe he should enlist bruin as his debate prepper. Haha)

I just don't see Hillary NOT winning the election. Media backs her big time, she's got the female/minority vote locked up, and the current PC culture means that any GOP opposition will have to walk on eggshells during debates and will lose in the headlines almost by default on any and all social issues.

Plus, she can always count on Bill to give her a huge boost at the DNC like he always does with Democratic presidential candidates.

I'm pretty sure Dr. Carson characterized our current national minimum wage of $7.25/hour as "high". That's a lot more dumb and relevant than a Pyramids theory.
