Big hits with runners in scoring position has been key so far. That's what they couldn't do last season. They've also had some excellent fielding so far. If they can make it last the Braves will finish much better than most of us thought.

Yep Wickman you're right about EY. I hate to write off someone so early, but I hope Maybin steps up and takes that spot.

Edit: And his very next at bat, he hits a RBI triple lol

Unbelievable! Never could have imagined this start. I'm sure it will come crashing down soon, but we can say we held the East lead at some point this season.

OAN: enjoyed watching the Masters yesterday afternoon and seeing Tiger make some noise. Golf is always so much more fun when he is in the mix and making some noise. Would have been fun if he could have sustained his front 9 mojo, and shot 65 or 66, to have an outside chance today.

Kind of surprised at the hitting. Not sure if it's the new hitting coach or what but so far there's not the same ole "swinging for the fence" every at bat. Seems like there's a lot more putting the ball in play swinging from most of the hitters. It is working because we are winning. We could possibly win a lot more than the 60 that I thought before the season started.

That was the one change that I was extremely thankful to see… I have been screaming for a new hitting coach for years. I am glad that we are finally starting to swing to put the ball in play. That puts the pressure on the defense consistently.

Can your hitting coach consult with a non-division club? We've gone from Dusty ball to using a fired Pirates hitting coach/your former minor league hitting coordinator (Long). Geez. We only have a few starters that can hit the other way and make contact. Poor Cueto has to throw complete game shut outs to record a W.
