NHL is just fun to watch in person. It's a bunch of fanatical fans that get rowdy and loud. The games move quick and have lots of violent action. If you don't really know rules/strategy, it doesn't translate as well to TV, but in person it's fun! If you ever get a chance to sit on the glass, DO IT! I got free tickets there one time, and it was the most fun game I've been to. And it was one overmatched team playing a good, non-divisional team on a Wednesday night. There was no reason for that game to even be fun to watch and it was like an NFL playoff game. It was a great spectator experience.

I'm good with the rules. Maybe not the strategy as much. I usually watch the playoffs and not much else.

Back in the day I used to go to Nashville Knights (used to be Nashville's minor league hockey team) with my dad. We sat on the glass a couple times for those, and it was a blast even for minor league hockey. I would love to get that close for an NHL game.

I don't know what's wrong with Adam.

He has tendinitis in his pitching elbow...had it for the last month of the season...I think his ERA was 1.32 for that month...of course everything intensifies in the playoffs...Madison Bumgarner is so unreal in the playoffs...you give him a run it's almost over. Scratch "almost"

Must win! Lose that and be 0-2 going to the Bay? Overall Cardinals have the better rotation... Both teams are opportunistic, so it should be fun watching the rest of this series...not fair to the rest of the NL with STL and SFO being so clearly better.

I disagree. Every pitcher in the Giants rotation has been an ace on a staff at one point in their career. The cards have much more power at the plate, but losing Molina was tough. I think the giants take this series before it even goes back to St. Louis.

I would take the Cards rotation and bullpen over the Giants.

Tim Hudson's "one point" was 5 years ago...he donned the mantra for the Braves but it didn't fit. Bumgarner is greatness and Vogelsong gets the nod against Miller but the Cardinal rotation is better...May not matter.

So was jake peavy's but guys with kind of experience usually do better than a young flame-thrower in the postseason. If rather have somebody that's learned to pitch as a starter. Bullpen goes to the cards. No doubt. They just keep trucking out guys with ridiculous stuff and abnormal deliveries. The bullpen is where you want stuff not cerebral pitching. I can't imagine having to hit off this neshek guy with his crazy delivery after lackey. And they threw in a fiery lefty between them. Can't get used to that.

KC - what a story! Does my heart good to see them in the WS again.

Giants/Cards going 6 or 7 games. Too close to call. I predicted Giants, but would not be surprised if its the Cards. Two great organizations going at each other.

Whoever wins the NL will get the WS imo. The sweep always kills teams. It's gonna be a week before the series starts. Too much time off.

Totally off topic.....

Was listening to the radio this morning and the Def Leppard song "Rocket" came on. What in the crap does it even say in the chorus??

Rocket.... yeah...randomjibberishooooh

*edit

Just answered my own question.

"Rocket, yeah, satellite of love"

Back to baseball. Giants' even year spell holds true once again as Bochy and crew send the Cards packing. Bruce knows how to get guys to elevate their play when it gets time for the playoffs. So Wild Card teams rule the WS this season. Says a great deal in favor of the revised playoff methods.

Being a NL guy I am staying with my original prediction despite KC's Cinderella storyline and my fondness for their organization. Giants in 6. Bochy will school Yost. KC has won in spite of him at times, which is the sign of a true team. It would not hurt my feelings if KC pulled it off.

Does anyone else wonder if Tyndall would run the score up on Pearl in TBA this season just to make a point?

I don't know that we will be running up the score on anyone this year with all the new faces, but he's not afraid to run it up a bit. He had a couple pretty bad beatdowns of conference teams in his southern miss days.

I don't think he'll get the chance. We have had an extremely large amount of turnover. McRae who did it all for us, is gone. Our 2 rebounding machines, Stokes and Maymon, are gone.

We are going to take our lumps this year. I really like Tyndall. But this is a tough task.
