Just to add to this:
As the cat's out of the bag now he actually signed with the Vols a couple of days ago and they have been waiting on him to get processed through the Clearinghouse.

I'm still not sure that he's going to be cleared--seems like it's headed in that direction, but we've all seen how that can go--but as the cat's out of the bag now, yes, it's official, he has signed with Tennessee. Excellent get to say the least assuming he can make it to campus.

I'm expecting small ball a lot with Detrick at the 2, hubbs at the 3, Richardson at the 4 then punter and Moore filling in as the main two off the bench.

Me too. It seems a lot of our best players will be 6'6" and under. Getting a JUCO big man or two would be nice. And a true PG...

CDT understands how it is done today. The differences between Zo and him are going to be immediately recognizable starting with recruiting. I thank Cal every day for their assistance in restoring the BB program to relevance and hopefully prominence. The later would never have been achieved no matter how long Zo stayed at UT. He did not have the X's and O's as well as in-game adjustments skillset.

Over/Under on how many games it will take before CDT gets lit up with a technical once the officials start their frat pledge hazing process? :)

Just thought we would get this one started up. Now that the basketball forum is not worth visiting. Can't wait to see what Donnie Tyndall is going to do with our basketball program. Excited to not have a boring team to watch finally!

Edit: This is the off topic one....... I thought we should have a basketball one, but the forum gods say no....

I am really hoping this happens, especially if he has grown to 6'10+ as his dad says. He is getting a lot of interest from basketball schools.

If we can land him, somehow hold onto Thompson (which it sounds like he's second guessing leaving now), and get Suarez to transfer, we'll have a seriously talented roster at every position (except no depth at the 5).

We could have just gone from barely fielding a team to competing for the SEC title in about 10 days. This turnaround is unbelievable. We need Mostella to qualify, tho.

Basketball is a lot like baseball in that you can have a good recruiting class and be competing for titles in a couple of years. If you are UK and have a great class every year, you compete for titles immediately. Looks we are going from OK to good almost overnight.

Basketball Forum has taken some turns.

2 weeks ago they all hated the CDT hire and said he couldnt recruit.
He gets a recruit and people are upset because they didnt think he was good.
A few days ago it was in full meltdown when players were asking to leave.
Yesterday and today everybody is on the pro-CDT train because he landed a top 50 player..

Saw the same stuff. Reminds me of 5th grade recess with them picking dodgeball teams. About as much knowledge to go with it.

I asked them what they meant in saying CDT would run a 4 guard offense. Did that mean the scheme or did that mean he would actually use 4 guards. Did they know that Moore was not really a guard, stuff like that. No response.

The bball forum isn't exactly a wealth of bball knowledge.

If you consider Richardson a guard there might be some situations where we run 4 guard. I could see us using a lineup where Mostella, Hubbs, and Richardson play the 2, 3, 4. Between Hubbs, Mostella, Richardson, Punter, and even Moore (if you consider him a 3/4) we've got a bunch of talented wings, so I wouldn't be surprised if we run some pretty small lineups to get them minutes.

Related thought, I always forget that CCM originally recruited Moore to be our PG. Talk about missing on a player eval. I love him as a forward, but that kid's not a PG.
