Now that we have this awesome thread, I can drop in here with a World Cup preview and no one can complain. For the soccer lovers, :hi: For the haters, :Bbiteme:

Group A: Brazil, Croatia, Mexico, Cameroon.
Brazil is the obvious pick to win the group. Who will finish 2nd? Croatia and Mexico have talent, but are flawed sides. I'll give the advantage to Mexico since the World Cup is in the Western Hemisphere and the Mexicans will have lots of crowd support.

Group B: Spain, Netherlands, Chile, Australia
Probably the toughest group as any of Spain, Netherlands, and Chile could win the group. I'm gonna predict Spain crashes out since they have 2 sides in the Champions League final and may come in tired. 1st place: Dutch, 2nd place: Chile. Australia has no chance.

Group C: Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan.
Really interesting group. Columbia has been playing well so I'll take them to win the group. Greece doesn't have enough ability to score and Ivory Coast hardly plays to their potential. I'll take Japan to finish the group in 2nd.

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy
Can England advance out of this group? I don't think so. I'll take Italy to win the group, followed by Uruguay in 2nd.

Group E: Switzerland, Ecuador, France, Honduras
How lucky can France get? They go from on the cusp of not making the World Cup to drawing the easiest group. France will win the group, and I'll take Honduras as a surprise 2nd place finisher. Honduras is an athletic team and I don't believe Switzerland and Ecuador can score enough.

Group F: Argentina, Bosnia, Iran, Nigeria
Argentina wins the group followed by Bosnia. Bosnia is a good side and will give teams trouble in this tournament.

Group G: Germany, Portugal, Ghana, USA
Germany wins the group. USA gets revenge on Ghana and holds down Ronaldo to take that 2nd spot. I'm a homer, can't pick any different.

Group H: Belgium, Algeria, Russia, Korea
For those who don't know, Belgium is stacked. They win the group followed by Russia.

Brazil is too young and there is too much pressure to win the World Cup on home soil, IMO. I'll take Argentina to win the whole thing. Lukaku from Belgium will win the golden boot.

Yeah the Frenchies got lucky!!!! USA's grouping worries me a bit, but we have recently beaten Germany in a friendly and I think we will get out revenge on Ghana as well. I'm just not sure we can hold off Portugal, but I'm a homer as well and we gon' kick dey azz!

So you think we'll advance?

I think we certainly have a shot. We have done very well Internationally the past couple of years really. I think that Klinsmann has really coached us up and we will surprise a lot of people at the WC.

US got the group of death. My prediction is US finishes 1-1-1. W vs Ghana, Tie vs Portugal and an L against the Germans. Take the 2nd spot and advance.

Playing Germany last could be beneficial if they already have two Ws under their belt.

Hearing some rumblings that Tennessee is getting involved with and will get a very serious look from point guard Detrick Mostella. He was originally a member of the 2013 class and signed with Pittsburgh.

Would suggest keeping a very close eye on this one going forward.

I could certainly deal with 1-1-1 and being able to advance.

2-0-1 would be amazing.

I'm just disappointed our family vacation is on the first week of June this time. Vacation falling during the 2010 WC was perfect.

I could see US winning against Ghana and a not caring German team that already has 2 wins.

Belgium is a rough draw if we advance as the 2.

Playing Germany last is certainly an advantage. Hopefully they are resting their starters by that time and playing their B team. 2 things I know. 1) we MUST get 3 points v Ghana 2) we really want at least a point off of Portugal. If we advance out of this group, I'll be ecstatic. I don't even care about a round of 16 matchup with Belgium.

I see zero chance the US gets 2 wins in this group

most likely scenario imo is at least 2 losses

i see 0-2-1 and 0-3 as being very likely scenarios

I would put our odds of not advancing at around 85%

and the only reason i am that high is we play the germans last

If we draw with Ghana it's over. No chance to advance. A Portugal win over Germany in the opening match would really shake things up or a Ghana win over Portugal or draw vs Germany.

I date a 14 year old middle schooler and I'm 24. Age is just a number right guys?! Right...? ... guys?

Ghana is an aging team. I think we finally beat them. In fact I think we beat them 3-0 or 3-1.
