I'm glad I can get bball updates here now, the measuring contest in the bball forum can be too much some times.

Tariq Owens

This kid has set up a visit for next Friday

"Top247 senior power forward Tariq Owens of St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Md., a former Ohio signee, plans to visit Tennessee on May 15, according to Ben Frederickson of 247Sports partner GoVolsXtra.com.
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound Owens is a three-star prospect who's ranked the nation's No. 128 overall player and No. 29 power forward in the 247Sports Composite for the 2014 class." - 247

6'8", 180lbs??? Is that accurate?

No - based on what I found previously. Supposed to be in the 205 range now. Has quite a few more schools chasing him - Florida GC, VCU, Seton Hall, Temple, etc. One article has his dad swearing he is 6' 10.5" even though they are now listing him in some services as 6' 9".

205 is a lot better but still seems a bit light. Kid needs meal plan.

Upon review- y'all are freaking nuts.. She's not very attractive at all..

I would be careful if I were you. Emilia has dragons that defend her honor. To each his own I guess but to me she is smokin' hot.

So I decided to sell my Bullet bass boat on craigslist. Took 15 minutes for the first scam to appear. 30 minutes for the first person wanting to help me sell it. Now people want to trade me a nice Harley. It's my first time selling something on Craigslist and it is cracking me up.

That place is the wild west. They will be selling you something with an unwanted disease if you are not careful.

My favorite is the "Ocean Engineer" who is out to sea and no access to a phone. Wants to pay by paypal and have a mover pick up the boat. I simply need to supply him with some paypal information to complete the deal. Of course he is going to pay my asking price in full sight unseen. :loco:

Went over to the BB Forum to check on recruiting news and found it is in meltdown mode. The pro CCM posters are bashing the pro CDT posters about losing all the commitments plus the current players. They seem to think that CDT is running them off. If a player doesn't think they can handle his style of preparation for the season then it's best they go to where they are not under that kind of pressure. They will be playing a lot of full court defense and that may not be their cup of tea. Hopefully he will bring in players that can handle his system. From what I've read his players at USM loved him and his system.

Yeah, BUT. I like CDT, and never much liked CCM. It seems to me that this is like when Butch showed up and he had to redundantly say that while he preferred his system, he would tailor a system that would suit the talent he had. I don't think CDT is willing to do that. I have no opinion on whether that's good or bad. I think it's getting dicey around here with how few scholarship players we have left, but he's the on risking millions of dollars and a personal reputation. Because of that, I'm going to grant him some levity and not form an opinion on his work until it's about this time next year. Give him a full recruiting cycle.

Davis and Thompson would have fit nicely in CDTs system IMO. I doubt he's running anyone off. The kids either came to play for CCM or they were pissed about how CCM was treated.

Buy a cheap band, put it on your left ring finger...it is a magnet. You will get hit on a lot!

Do not lie...tell them you were treated wrong, needed time to "find yourself" and thought the band would allow that. Then laugh at yourself :)

Kinda kidding. But if you absolutely quit looking, they will come after you. Other option is to only ask out 8s or higher. Make it very casual and put very little effort into it.

Finally, if your chance is better at making millions, do that and women will track you down :)

Hang in there my Vol brother!

Maybe Freak could start a VFL dating site? :hi:

Couldn't agree more. The minute I got married, women were throwing themselves at me for the first time in my life.

My point could have been clearer. Let me clarify. System, personality, or way you pronounce 'VAWLS', there is a difference of opinion somewhere between the CDT and the players that signed up under CCM. Whatever that difference is, I want to have no opinion on CDT until he fields a team, then gets a full year to recruit. I really think that while it seems bad, I'm not going to decide if it is good or bad until about this time next year. I think he knows what he wants and I'll start forming opinions on him when he's had some time to get what he wants and I can see how well that's working out. Butch didn't get that. When he was hired, the fan base was immediately (myself included) asking who he was, why he wasn't Charlie Strong or someone else, and how could he possibly field that team with his system. But after a year of him as coach I'm damned impressed. Learning from that I want to apply the lesson to CDT.
