So....Richmond...where do we stand with him?

Don't know. But I did just learn that a textbook salesman with a bow tie is looking to check out the nightlife in a town he claims he knows a lot about. I can't read the tea leaves for you, but if that doesn't clue you in as to where Richmond is leaning, then nothing will.

Rendevous is tha place for ribs. I grew up in Memphis and could not get enough of that place. The old Gridleys wasn't bad either.

Agree. Man I use to chow down at that place when I was in town. Back decades ago The Private Eye on Overton Square had some really good dry ribs.

I've lived in Memphis for 5 years, in the heart of Mid Town. We take a back seat to the Tigers, but we are definitely the #1 SEC team in town.

Now, let's get down to the real argument bubbling just below the surface...

Where's the best BBQ in Memphis

BBQ Shop, Commissary and Central all have good pork. But what sets them apart from me is the sauce.

Went to the Commissary this Spring. It was good - the dark, near black sauce was too sweet for me. Bangin banana pudding, though. Central is too sweet for me, too. I never understood the fascination with Central. Three Little Pigs was solid.

BBQ Shop's sauce is heads and shoulder's above the rest. It's more tomato-based and has a vinegar kick, too. They just need some good PR and maybe some remodeling, but they are the unrivaled king for me. JMO! :peace2:

Can someone post the I shole am hungry pic again? TIA!

:hi::eek:lol::eek:lol: This also gets me every time Catbone!

Interstate BBQ is my number 1. I could eat it every day, Although those BBQ chips at central are pretty fire. The one on Central Ave. is like 45 seconds from my house.

The best BBQ in Memphis is usually at the places you typically don't hear about. If you drive past one and it looks like you might not make it out alive, you're getting warmer. You gotta earn the tasty stuff in this city sometimes.

It's even more impressive when you consider he may have been high half the time in games. Who knows what he could have done sober! Though it helped Michael Phelps too...maybe there's a connection!

When I played ultimate Frisbee in college, I was blown away how the most amazing athletes I'd ever played with in any sport would get high before every single game. Then they'd run faster and longer than everyone.

All that to say, you may be right haha

did I just see frisbee and amazing athletes in the same sentence?

Go to a tournament some day. You will be blown away. I've played with guys in high school who ended up in the NFL, MLB, and MLS. Some of those Frisbee players are every bit the athlete those guys were. If you love in Knoxville, try to make the annual Dave Baldwin tournament one day.

Edit admittedly the guys I saw in college were as good as the pro players I played with while they were in high School, but still, some of those teams at Florida, UNC, Colorado were just have some sick athletes.
