You tell those Islamo-Commie-Nazi-Progressive-Fascist-Socialist-Anarchist pig dogs!

You're not funny. What do you want to nitpick today ? I suppose you'd like to object to my terminology. That's okay. It's just a distraction. What would your professor prefer we call them? I bet just like the Chinese thing, you don't really object that a problem exists but instead of agreeing you'd rather try and muddy the big picture with unimportant details that dont change the reality of what is actually happening at all so that you can post a goofy face and feel like you really scored a super burn. Smarter men than you and I have coined the term Islamo Nazi and I don't need the approval of a young man to use it.

Isn't there a bounty for coyote? And a well placed .22 lr should take care of one usually. Sad? Yeah too bad the animal suffered but this happens with deer hunting too.
Coyotes don't walk. The skulk.

Man, I kinda like you.
But you called an animal in to shoot already knowing you didn't have
proper fire power to do the job?
Not a fan of coyotes but would never just wound the hell out of anything, then decide I should look for a better tool.

It was out of ignorance. I haven't been back since. In hind site I wish I had taken my 12 Gauge with 00 buckshot but I didn't think if I did see one it would be that close. In my defence it was standing there growling at me and my eight year old so I did feel quite intimidated. Like I said, I am building an AR for just this purpose.

Hunt for food, not to injure for the hell of it.

Thanks for the lecture sir. I didn't know coyotes were that tasty. Have you tried it? Next time I'll just call it in and try and pet it, maybe try to domesticate it to the point it can live in my house. We can sit around and cozy up to the fire and eat hotdogs together.

My intent was not to injure but to kill humanly. Have you had them kill your pets? Keep you up all hours of the night? :hi:

Sounds like you failed. I have coyotes around too yes but I don't go hunt them down. Maybe if they killed my doberman or german shephard I would but I doubt that would happen.
If they killed your pet or livestock I can see the reasoning but you made it sound like it was to just take your son out on a little adventure to kill something.
Its your land, have at it, just rubbed me the wrong way, I have a lot of compassion for animals, my wife is a vet.

Thanks man, we all screw up.
Admitting to such is admirable, lord knows I've had my share.
Really cool that you didn't just spin it as a great American thing to do just for political crap.
Glad I asked instead of accusing.
Carry on my friend.

Are you aware that killing coyotes is encouraged by most states and conservation groups? They actually used to pay a bounty for every one you kill.

When I lived in AK there was a bounty on wolves and the government shot them from helicopters...until they realized they were overpopulating the elk and moose and it wound up being a huge error.

In fact there were a lot of things that used to have a bounty. Buffalo used to garner quite a price too.

I have compassion for animals as well. I love to have the turkey and deer all around. While I'm a hunter, I've never taken game from my property. The coyotes however are a nuisance to me and my neighbors. They kill the turkey and fawns. They've killed cats. They are a threat to children. They are overpopulated. I feel no guilt in taking coyotes out.

I am out here in central CA right now and coyotes are bad here. They are very adaptive and thus can overwhelm an ecosystem very quickly. Plus when they get their paws on Acme Rockets and catapults there is no limits to the damage they can do.

I thought you were in Indiana contemplating a move to Tennessee?

I thought you were in Indiana contemplating a move to Tennessee?

I'm on temporary duty in CA. Headed back to IN later this week. The move back to TN is looking more and more likely. Probably next summer.

It can and will in many cases. It was not some irresponsible move on your part. If you plan on shooting any more I can tell you a 22mag will leave no doubt. Great guns.

Killing vermin, and I include coyotes in that group, before it can cause damage is a pretty integral part of life in the rural south. I think a larger rifle would be more practical and humane in most causes, unless you're shooting rats around a corn crib or the like.

Of course according to involuntary I'm a Godless heathen, so what the flip do I know.

I don't have the 22mag but as I stated earlier I just finished this build exclusively for coyotes. Just awaiting my optics. I am certain this will do the job:

Nah man I was agreeing with you. I know that someone being older automatically means they're smarter. So I'm totally on board with using scary sounding words strung together to label people I don't like and disagree with (as long as we read it somewhere online first!). It doesn't matter if it's "accurate," it matters if it makes them other. Why worry about things like "definitions" or "facts"? Those are just distractions for those sissy commie liberal fascists who want to protect their ally progressive islamo nazi stalinists. We know better! :loco:

It is accurate particularly of the "Palestinian" Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood variety. I agree with Andrew McCarthy who would actually know what he's talking about. I'm sorry if you don't like it but I'm going to continue saying it. Its a real term.

You guys prefer a piston or direct impingement?

I'm not sure how I feel about piston guns. They obviously run cleaner but I wonder about the gunk in the piston system. How often does it need cleaning? A lot of the upper end guns are piston guns.

If you can drop a little more cash take a look at NightForce. I've used several but nothing comes close to one, especially for shooting distance.
I'll check into it. My nephew works for a large sporting goods company and he get me that scope (or any in the vortex line) for about half off.
