I own a Remington 870. It is a very versatile weapon. You can purchase multiple barrels for different needs. I have a rifled barrel for deer hunting. It is extremely accurate. The rifled barrel wouldn't be recommended for home defense but the versatility and quality that the 870 offers are great!

I will definitely keep this in mind. Sounds like the 870 is the way to go.

Nah, not really. :)

Shoot them in the head, at a distance, which is what those of us that have farmed do. I guess some folks are accuracy challenged. Most hunters go for them up close and personal for the thrill. You can clip the other varmints with a .22 handgun and they are done. It's just not what people on here are making it out to be.

We are in agreement on a lot here. My point is that the identity of a nut that will kill people is hard to detect unless people that know them pay attention and report activity that could endanger fellow citizens. But if the nut limits close contacts/friends to a select few, they can get by with it for awhile. Which is time enough for the planning and the acquisition of weapons legally or illegally. You are right the tools are better.

No way in the world would I have ordered our sons and daughters into that quagmire in the Middle East other than to blow Afghanistan into kingdom come after 9/11. Go get the job done and leave them to rebuild their own hellholes. Just track them like dogs in their movements when you leave.

What has always chaffed me is the oil barons and politicians getting oil from over there, knowing all the time that America is sitting on some of the largest energy sources in the world that could sustain us for centuries while alternative sources are developed. Just all part of the globalist agenda. Our own leaders would rather kill our own children in war in that cesspool of the world as well as pick our pockets and load debt on this country for years to come; than take care of their own people.

I didn't write a dissertation on the topic but I've read a few books on the radicalization of Islam and the history of conflict in the region. I know enough to know that there is a threat, it involves a lot more than religious ideologies and that the answer isn't declaring war on political correctness lol.
Look, the irony of your Trump statement doesn't need a response from me. Read a newspaper or Google the words "lie" and 'Trump". Hell do it for any politician.
I'm not sure if "Islamo Nazi" is a new term but it is ridiculous by definition. Put some underpants on. You are showing your a$$.

If I was really wanting yo obliterate a bunch of people in an enclosed space. I wouldn't use an AR. I would use a AA 12 or Saiga 12 loaded with slugs. Slugs are slow but huge and deliver massive knockdown power and maximum damage.

Remington is a reasonable and very functional shotgun.

Well you're wrong. Islamo Nazi is a perfect title. Google the Mufti and Hitler and tell me what's different about Islamic religious leaders then and now. Spoiler alert, nothing has changed. Religious ideology is 100 % the problem and ,no, fighting PC won't fix it, but it's a necessary step in the process. I'll continue to roll with my opinion and you do you. I know a little bit on the subject besides what the Huffington post likes to put out. FBI testimony and experts in the field support what I believe. Also why do you keep talking about Trump? I don't care about Trump. I think he's awful. I was a Ted Cruz person. But compared to the should be felon Hillary Rotten Clinton or any other weak, commie loving Democrat he's thebombdotcom .

Most likely not gonna go hungting with it. I have a rifle I will want to do that with. Honestly, it will be mostly for home defense and to shoot at the range. What do you do with yours?

I don't currently have a personal defense shotgun. I have a Remington 1100 that I have a slug barrel for when I occasionally deer hunt with. I only use it for deer hunting when a rifle is prohibited. I have another barrel with choke tubes so I can use if to bird or turkey hunt or the occasional Skeet shoot.

I was thinking about getting a personal defense, tactical shotgun. I was considering either the one I pictured, a simple Mossberg with tactical have hardware, or the AK style shotgun. I'm leaning toward the AK version as it is clip fed and is semi-auto.

I've thought about holding off and getting a more upgraded tactical later on. I don't really "need" the shotgun right now. But we know that is American blasphemy :). What's the shotgun you pictured?

I really need to befriend someone with hunting land here in Tennessee or in Idaho/Montana/Colorado. Never been and would like to experience it. A nice elk would be a thing of beauty to take down.

It's a double barrel pump. Each time you pump it loads two. Then one fires with each trigger pull.

It's a little steep for me right now.
