The biggest con job in America has already been pulled by the current biggest terrorist in America, the potus!! That status has already been claimed, sorry!
Best wishes to both of you! That's the best kind of next time around --you weren't looking for it, and then there it was. :hi:
I'm applying to residency this fall and still trying to figure out what I'm gonna do with my life. I originally thought ortho, but I'm not sure if thats gonna work out. I enjoyed being in the OR during my surgery rotation, but I'm not sure that's the life I want. I've went back and forth between ortho and sports med a lot.
I have enjoyed spending time with sports med docs trained in family med residencies. I think that is something I would be happy doing, but I didn't enjoy family medicine and don't see myself as a PCP. I'm not sure that I would like doing a 3 year residency in primary care.
So I've come across PM&R. I've known about it, but it seems like a hard field to get a grasp on and there isn't any exposure to it during med school. From what I've read online it seems like something that could fit me well. Anatomy has always been my favorite subject, especially msk anatomy. I would like to do procedures in my career as well. I suppose I've always seen my self working in an ortho office, but I wouldn't limit myself to that if other opportunities arise. I'm just trying to gather as much info on it as I can.
Would you recommend it as a career?
Thanks
I'm not opposed to promotion of a common standard, but again, as a matter of law it's up to the legislatures of the states. You can't just seize the primary process nationally and force the states to adopt any certain rules. There are only two ways to legally change the rules under our Constitution. You either convince the several states to individually agree to a common standard or you ratify a new amendment to the Constitution which again requires approval of the states.
You make really good points. I have no desire to promote an amendment, which would never happen anyway. My primary issue is stated in your first sentence. I am also a big proponent of states' rights with a limited federal government. I just want to see the GOP, if they are going to represent themselves as the standard bearer of the conservatives, to be more voter friendly in how they conduct the process. The idea is to increase the size of the tent like Trump correctly says. What good is it to self limit the interest in your party by limiting the value of the vote in the primaries, then lose the POTUS? They need as many people as possible singing the nominee's praises and feeling a part of the process (movement) when going for the POTUS. That does not look like it will happen this time. At least not enough for the public to buy into when the Dems' ads start hitting the TV.
The GOP has already gone off the cliff as promoting themselves as the standard bearers. It's been a ****show that Bush & Cheney created and the fellow GOP'ers lockstepped right with them - along with our lilly livered Dem's in congress. Believe it or not, the smartest man on the hill is our President. He's played them all like a fiddle. His approval ratings are not unlike Reagans.
Very happy with my choice. Thought IM myself, but very glad I didn't.
Musculoskeletal medicine is the majority of what I do....lots of procedures, part of Ortho group.
PM&R encompasses neuromuscular disease, SCI, TBI, stroke rehab, many, many and varied disease processes. Lots of pain management aspects.
Sports Med fellowship is still a good idea.
True team physician's life revolves around the team...makes family time tough.
I chose family. I still treat plenty of athletes, but my free time is family driven...lots of fun too![]()
Smartest doesn't mean that he has what's best for America and her citizens as his main focus.
He has his own agenda and is going for it regardless of the country's needs. JMO
Not a fan of Obamacare, but it has essentially taken the leash off the insurance companies. I see people paying much higher premiums across the board, but getting much less for their money than ever before. The patients have such high out of pocket costs, they are delaying their healthcare until the situation is so bad that they have no option. It really saddens me. I have a much higher sef pay and charity group than ever before. The only entity benefitting now are those insurance companies.
Have disagreed with this particular President's actions more than all his predecessors combined. Not just healthcare, but across the board.
Sorry about that. Next time it happens click back in your browser and see if you can identify the ads on the page that may have caused it.
:hi:
This had my iPhone locked up today Freak
Appreciate it. I was unable to click back from that screen. The only way out was to hold down Safari on app screen which brought up history. I was able to clear which allowed me out of jail LOL.
Thought you might want to know.
