There are already plenty of clean needle programs that addicts can take advantage of. The problem is, when they are high they don't worry about exchanging their needles and when they need to get high they don't give a rat's ass if they have a clean needle or not. That won't change if you decriminalize hard drugs. Addicts only care about their next fix. That is why the ideas that rational people like most of us on here come up with don't work in actual practice. We are dealing with people that are not thinking rationally. If they were, they wouldn't be putting poison in their bodies.

😂 "heroin recreational"

No such thing. One and done

Hey, Volatil. Just wanted to let you know that the experiment with the other drug was a failure. Her depression got much worse and we are putting her back on her old meds again. I actually think the medicine may have restored a little of her function as I think she became more aware of her disease thus causing an increase in her depression. Her self worth bottomed out.

Sorry to hear that. I will continue to pray for your family.

And for all of you who keep bringing up alcohol versus illicit drug use..

It's like comparing being shot with a BB gun versus an actual handgun. You can probably cause a lot of damage to someone with a BB gun with the right shot or prolonged exposure but, shoot yourself with a Desert Eagle, that's gonna leave a mark...

About 570,000 people die annually in the U.S. due to drug use. That breaks down to more than 480,000 deaths related to tobacco, about 31,000 due to alcohol, nearly 22,000 due to overdose from illicit (illegal) drugs, and close to 23,000 due to overdose from prescription pain relievers.

Tobacco is legal and kills almost half a million people a year. You know how many people have died from weed? Zero. Not one person ever. Oh and more people die from legal prescription drugs than cocaine, heroin and other illegal drugs combined.

What a joke of a system we have.

So let's just make it all legal and that'll fix everything...

Sorry Bud hate this as I know you do too

Are you implying that we've got all these honest, hard-working drug dealers wrongfully imprisoned?

No not at all. Everyone in prison is a waste on society and they should be locked up for life no matter the cost. And there are millions more on the streets that should be locked up too.

Check the homeless rate and unemployment rate in Colorado pre and post MJ being legal.

Read all the actual research on MJ and brain function. Other aspects as well. It took a lot of research to figure out all the problems associated with alcohol and tobacco. People still don't believe....
It will take a long time to figure out all the potential problems with MJ too. To say it's harmless is just as uninformed as those that consider MJ the root of all evil. :hi:

I don't think anyone is saying it's harmless but the number 1 health problem in the US is obesity. Should we limit an adult to only healthy foods in moderation? Or put limiters on the speeds with which cars travel? How many disabilities and deaths could we prevent if we did these two things?

I think you have to treat it like alcohol. Age limit it even if you wanted to say 25 years old is the legal limit to use.

Weed is not the problem. Aint nobody selling their tv for weed. Has anyone ever prostituted themselves to get more weed? Sure, it's probably better that people not use it and it is damaging to undeveloped child brains in some kind of way, but it's not in any way a part of our country's drug problem. I think we need to separate it from the equation so we can focus on the real problems instead of pretending we're winning the drug war by catching people smoking pot because it's waaay easier than dealing with the other stuff.

People doing serious time don't end up there on accident in most cases.

You're an optimistic guy Ron but your optimism is getting the best of you here IMO. Legalizing anything isn't gonna cut down on the number of people incarcerated. Nobody is doing hard time for pot possession.

The idiots in prison aren't in there by accident. They are there because they made bad decisions and they willingly make these bad decisions knowing there are consequences.

It's amazing to me that you have to type this out.
