I will extend the maddest props to anyone who can photoshop with excellence Dooley into the classic "I'm with Coco" poster.

Taking this, or a better photo:

and transforming into a version of this:

Instead of orange hair, leave the tie orange.

If done well, it will immediately dethrone the 3 wolf moon avatar I have. :hi:

Well, I tried to do it myself, not bad, but someone can do better.

What gives you any faith that it can happen though? Who are we going to beat that's "better" than Florida?

They kicked our asses. And it was at home with the loudest I've ever heard Neyland Stadium.

What makes you think that it can't? I would rather be positive and support the team through the season. You nor I have no clue how the rest of the season will go. What good is it going to do you to be negative about the rest of the season only being the 3rd game into it? How about everyone take a step back and evaluate things at the end of the season.

We'll be 3-1 going into the UGA game. We'll see what this team is made of in about 9 days.

History? I've always been a supporter, but there is no argument to support Dooley as a successful coach that doesn't begin with "could" or "might". I'm not calling for his head, but those that are against him have a much better argument than those that support him.

Counting the
Florida game, the Vols have now been outscored 283-131 in the second
half in the last 17 league games (start of the 2010 season). This stat is one reason why he can't. We don't have a good a second half coach and you can't win with that.

No Depth explains a lot of that. Simms explains a bit more. This season will tell more of the story

That excuse has lost a TON of tread. We have depth. We have experience. We have talent.

What we lack are wins.

No more excuses. Win.

I agree with everything you're saying, but in that particular case it still applies since the stat is cumulative conference games over multiples seasons. Only one of those has happened this season, and we all know how that turned out, but the stat in itself is still skewed by two years worth of poor roster. However, if it continues through the rest of this year there's nowhere else to look other than the coaches.

The word depth is used very loosely on this board. I agree the team does have more depth than they had previously but not a lot of depth. Everyone saying that depth is not an excuse anymore evidently does not understand what depth is. They have more bodies, yes, but a lot of the back ups are not very experienced or not good enough to make the 2 deep at the elite programs. The starters are young, for the most part, but there is a major fall from first to second string experience wise. Our elite players got gassed last Saturday & again, because of the talent and/or experience difference, we got smashed when the game wore on. There was some coaching issues, but when a teams on the field, coaching only goes so far. We have a new philosophy defensively, there will be some growing pains. When a teams sophomores are much better than seniors, there will be problems, plain and simple. They will get better; some of the fans need to grasp that the train wreck we was put in by the last couple of head coaches and staffs takes a few years to correct.

I agree. Randolph goes down and we are going to rely on a freshman to come in and play significant minutes. We all can't wait for Pig to start playing to add to the offense. Bonner over Teague, too. When you are saying these things you don't have a lot of depth.

Yea, I meant to and should have used talent/experience instead of just experience in my post hero.

This is a hypothetical situation and it doesn't apply to UT, what if a team is playing in the BCS NC, can EE recruits play? Like a kicker or an all world type recruit?

This team has no reliable depth...at any position. That is a fact. It has some young talent at backup positions, but that talent can not be relied on yet. That is not an excuse, that is a fact. You delusional morons still do not realize, and will not accept how bad that Fulmer and Kiffin nuked this program. We were a glorified HS team when Dooley took the job. All you aholes want is a head on a platter. Nothing from the last 2 years can be used as a barometer. If Dooley can't win 7-8 games this year THEN set up the guilletine.

This is horse manure. He has had enough time to recruit solid depth. That "glorified high school team" went through the 2009 season with 260 pound walk ons and scrapped through the entire schedule with a head case of a quarterback. Being competitive at UT doesn't require that Jesus take the reigns as HC and work miracles all day long. There is plenty from the past two years to judge Dooley on. The fact is that you don't want to accept that. The program was in a pretty bad spot when he took over, but nowhere near a bad enough spot to not fight for 60 minutes every game or, Heaven forbid, UT look like it came prepared to the heavyweight fights. Hell, Western Kentucky even held their ground against Alabama this year better than UT did last year. Coaching and preparedness plays a huge factor in winning games.

This is exactly the kind of mindset that keeps coaches around for too long. This is the kind of thinking that kept Fulmer around for 3 years too long. Hold the freakin coaches accountable for their mistakes and praise their strengths. That's not too much to ask instead of pretending we owe Dooley anything for simply taking the job at UT.

I would bet that both have more quality athletes than us.

Whose fault is that? Dooley recruits the players. He has had 3 years to build quality depth. Why doesn't Vandy struggle so bad in the second half since its lack of Quality depth? What about miss state? They haven't set the world on fire in recruiting. 100 point difference in the second half is not because of lack of depth
