Okay so sorry, but what's the skuttle on JJ on being on the sidelines during the games? I didn't know this-- not sure there is an excuse unless he has given up on the team/teammates and moving on? Probably already been discussed....

Good grief falling on a helmet?! That's almost comical as if Tuttle slipped on a banana peel in the locker room. It's been in the FF all morning that Warrior hit Tuttle with his helmet and that's how the injury happened. I completely get that he is trying to protect the players and himself, because that borders on assault if it indeed occurred that way. Common sense says that sure sounds more likely than just slipping and falling.

Why do you care? Ainge said that there were locker room fights all the time. You have close to 100 young men hitting each other in practice all the time, drinking together, liking the same girls, and you sound like that one fight is unacceptable. That's just another example of you using a rumor to push your childish agenda. Lame.

Another question. He said
I think that what we see Saturday will play a part in that. If UGA people make up a significant part of the crowd at our stadium anything could happen. When angry boosters collide with angry fans, things start moving faster. I'll even say that there's certainly scenarios where he isn't let go at the end of the season but IMO, those are shrinking by the moment.
There are options on staff that, IMO, could salvage the season

I believe Hoke would be the first choice. Scott would also be an option. Shoop, even Gillespie.

Did he mean to say that there are scenarios in which he doesn’t make it to the end of the season? Seems like that was the point he was trying to get across

Yes. Basically seems like he didn’t think that would be an option but now it is.

If we have to go down to coordinators, I agree with Venables being a great choice and why not Tee? His recruiting would be outstanding and he could work wonders with our offense compared to what it is now. It's also critical that whomever is hired, they have to surround themselves with great assistants- this is often overlooked and has been the downfall of many coaches, including ours. Don't want to repeat that.
Part of me really likes the idea of Tee. On an emotional level it kinda feels right.

Not sure he's ready quite yet though. He's only been an OC one year.

I would absolutely LOVE if we somehow were able to bring in Cut on a 3-4 year deal and get Tee to be OC/AHC/HC in waiting.

BVS abounds in here. "That coach is too good! He would never come here! We'll get Scott Frost and like it!"

Looking at coaching hires recent blue blood schools, other than Michigan and Texas, have any really hit on big-name proven hires? UGA and Florida hires didn't really set the world on fire. VTech and Oregon had good hires but they were both G5 promotions.

I just think the landscape has changed a little bit and while I hope we exhaust all options and kick the tires, if we can't get a huge proven name like Kelly or Patterson that in itself isn't an indictment of Currie or the administrations commitment to winning

If you are going to an interim then after a UGA loss if that happens is when to do it with a bye week. In order to salvage the season

Fire Shoop or Larry Scott buys him another year.

Idk. I was on the "Shoop is the problem" bus a few weeks ago, but if the defense stays steady and we go 6-6 or 7-5 then it will be hard to make Shoop the scapegoat for this season.

Outside of GT, the defense has looked better than last year thus far. That might change once we get into the thick of SEC play though.

If you're still squawking about Patterson, it's not a matter of him being too good for us. He's a Texas guy who has a self-built legacy program. We can't RECREATE that. And before you start regaling tales of how much money we can whip him with, you need to realize that TCU has old and new oil money galore along with CEO's of real estate empires and electronics companies, HMO's go down the list. They'll match anything so we would be dependent on his desire for a new challenge...he creates that for himself in Fort Worth every season. And he's a salty dog for all those that think Schiano is too mean. :)

That's the kind of guy that fans would turn on extremely fast if he doesn't win pretty quick. Would be a terrible hire.

Unless he won...then they praise him like all the other successful "jerks" in football. Awesome hire. :shades:

Hey I couldn't care less if he's a jerk as long as he wins. But if he's a jerk and he doesn't win early, the fans won't be as patient with him as we were with Jones IMO.

It's not just Patterson. Literally every time a big name coach is mentioned, someone chimes in with "He would never come here" or "we're going to hire Scott Satterfield". BVS

Gruden went straight neutral with the tie color. That sly dog. He knew we would be watching and he picked out a colorless tie. It's a sign! He's reading Volnation!

So just so I'm understanding this correctly, JAV says that there never was a qb competition, that QD has been the guy all along, and JG never was, and still isn't ready?
The whole room not thing about QD and the girl, is just that, a rumor?
And JJ has thrown in the towel reading bt the lines? Tired of all the bs? So what's his plans?

Gruden wasn’t a realistic option last time. Not gonna be this time either. He just likes to hear his name mentioned with jobs. He’s not ever gonna run thru that T.

Chip Kelly isn’t gonna be in play here imo.

Obviously if you get a chance to hire those guys you gotta try and do it but I just don’t think they are realistic and I don’t really want us wasting time on either of them. So if we ax Butch at seasons end then I am scratching both those guys after 3 days. If they are gonna be our coach then it would be worked out long in advance.

It just makes no sense to me to speak so definitively about stuff like this.

Literally anything could happen and none of us have any clue. If we could all admit that much these conversations would be a lot more fun.
