So you would take Tee Martin over Manning?

Not saying I would take Bray btw

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but, if you're inferring that Peyton never won anything significant, he DID win the SEC.

He just couldn't get past some of the all-time best Florida teams nor Fulmer get past Spurrier in his prime.

But he never did win a NC, Tee did. Manning won 0 NC's in 3 years starting, Tee won 1 in 2 years. Applying the same logic he was using that means: Martin>Manning, right? Wins and rings don't determine how good someone is imo

I think that's a bit of stretch in applying what he said. Manning won some very meaningful games for the UT program, and you can start with the 1995 Bama game, which broke their 9 game winning streak. He then beat a top 5 OSU team that same year.

I would maybe understand the Bray argument a little better if he had done something in the NFL. I agree that it's ultimately a team sport, and we use defense as reason to help Peyton in his comparison to Brady. But Bray still didn't show enough leadership and moxie when he needed to. If you put Peyton on Bray's teams, what is the outcome?

Regarding Bray.... The problem is you'd have to go back to Day One and erase both Kiffin and Dooley from the equation. Would he have thrived in a more mature situation? Most would. He has talent but we also know that talent alone isn't enough and I think that's where predictions are hard to make.

The fact that he's managed to stay in the league for as long as he has tells me that he can be a grown up. That's good. But the fact that he's still on the bench makes me wonder what he's still missing. It's not in arm talent but something still isn't there.

No. We will miss him. He may have been frustrating to watch at times, but most times he was electric.

Every time Dobbs turned a third-and-long sack into a long first down, it was sweet payback for all those times a mobile quarterback had done that to us over the last decade.

He also had a coach who all of the players didn't like. Did any player give their all in 2012? Seemed like Dooley quit on the players and the players quit on him

Also depends if the list is going based on talent or production

On my personal list he is below both. I loved to watch Bray play, because he could really sling it, but I think I would put Ainge and Dobbs above him.

This is a bad analogy. No one said championships.

If he signed a LOI, can he still greyshirt?

"15.5.6.3.2 Recruited Student-Athlete Entering After Fall Term, Aided in First Year. [FBS/FCS] A student-athlete recruited (per Bylaw 15.02.8) by the awarding institution who enters after the first term of the academic year and immediately receives institutional financial aid (based in any degree on athletics ability) shall be an initial counter for either the current academic year (if the institution’s annual limit has not been reached) or the next academic year. The student-athlete shall be included in the institution’s total counter limit during the academic year in which the aid was first received. (Revised: 1/15/11 effective 8/1/11)"

The NCAA doesn't explicitly use the term grey-shirt, but I think this covers it.

I think you're taking his point a little too literally.

Someone get Hubbs on the Bembry situation after Sunday meetin'

VQ mods haven't commented yet but LWS has...

I understand he will not be with the team this year but was not given a reason why.

I'm guessing he has an injury that was going to limit his participation this year so he will sit out and enroll in January to save a year. Would count on 2018 class as a grey shirt. But that is just a guess since not told reason.
