I'm surprised nobody posted about it when it happened (if you've still got the game on DVR, check it out).

Towards the end of the 3rd quarter, Atlanta was forced to call a timeout and, as Ryan was walking off the field, you could tell that it had something to do with his in-helmet communcation not working. As he approached the sideline, the network mics were picking up some of his words, and he was saying something about not being able to hear. Then, there is a brief cameo by none other than VFL Matt Sims. Ryan looks at him and, obviously, asks him if he was hearing anything, and the mics actually picked up Sims' response: "I couldn't hear sh!t"

Made me chuckle.

Probably more Patriots cheating

Actually getting some praise for this hire on reddit. A lot of UM fans saying we now likely have the best DL coach in the country.

Shoop, Warren and now Hoke. I wish we'd replace Thig too. How good is Hoke as a DL coach

I hope it's in the plan to replace Thig. Sorry, but we need someone to develop these LBs better. For some reason, Thig isn't recruiting at an elite level like he used to do.

Wow, what a hateful, ignorant post. Do you know anything about Chicago or its violence? Or are you just blindly attacking someone you disagree with? I'm not even sure what exactly you're implying here. Love and acceptance are what drives the murder rates in poor Southside neighborhoods? My experience and understanding has been more that it involves a long history of segregation, poor education systems, economic disenfranchisement, corruption, gangs, questionable law enforcement, and drugs.

I can agree with the bolded. I grew up in Chicago and half my family still lives there. The other half moved to Wisconsin due to crime. I remember when I was growing up, people would always joke about how corrupt Mayor Dailey was. Gangs and drugs were always bad there. Same with a lot of failing inner city schools. I do remember when Gary, IN had the higher murder rate over Chicago. Fwiw I grew up about a mile from Cabrini Green. There is a lot of work that needs to be done. I don't know if all of your factors correlate. For example, I have lived in many places that have a longer history of segregation and economic disenfranchisement and it has not led to a higher crime rate. For example, I currently live in Mississippi, they have a longer history of segregation and most everyone is dirt poor. Crime still is not anywhere as high as Chicago. Granted there isn't as many people densely packed into a smaller area. Education is certainly better in Chicago then Mississippi. Mississippi is ranked somewhere between 48-50 in the entire country. I think the bigger issue in Chicago is community policing and ownership. The big difference I have seen, north vs south, is that the south takes greater pride in their community and is more involved. People are generally more friendly in the south and are more acquainted with their neighbors and their neighborhoods.

Glad Butch is slowly upgrading his staff. I believe every hire to this point has been very good.

I agree, except the QB coach hire is only better because we didn't have one officially. If we could replace Thig or add another LB coach (if a 10th assistant is allowed), then I think this defensive staff is elite, and the product will be nasty.

Agree on Canales, but it can't hurt having a qb coach on staff. Have you noticed a lot of the staff hires seem to have HC experience? That can only be good

Butch is doing what he has to in order to win. He may not be a great coach yet, but hiring a great staff will help in a big way. See Dabo for proof of that. Even Saban has the best staff around him as well. Hopefully this translates to the field come September

Oh Hoke...

Guys, this is the worst kept secret and we do expect the Hoke/Strip stuff to be announced in the next couple of days. The coaches return tomorrow and begin work back on Wednesday.

What about Mahoney?

I would expect something along the same timeline.

Hoke to DL, Strip to admin role, Mahoney let go and Wells promoted to OL coach. Very nice.
