Listening to the Doug Matthew's show right now, and they are saying that Dobbs may be working his way into a fourth/fifth round pick because of his practice and play so far at the Senior bowl. Of course, most of us knew that he's very coachable, but apparently he is adapting to the different styles of coaching quicker than anybody else which is a big benefit in the pros.

I'll say this, the guy is smart enough to adapt to just about anything. My greatest concern about him is his downfield accuracy but that can (hopefully) be coached up.

I would hate to get fed to hungry lions. So, I haven't started a new thread. However, I am a regular lurker, and I see nowhere that one can find out what our current recruiting situation is. I am assuming it is Ray or bust? I am also assuming we might get a walk-on in Mackenzie (sp?). Are there any possible 4 or 5 *'s out there who haven't committed anywhere, and have us on there list even though there is no/very low expectations? Shouldn't we have a thread for this in the last week? Or is THIS the thread for that?

Mckenzie committed to USC

My opinion:
The class is what it is, except for the small possibility of Ray.
The downside is obvious, no one would have complained about a few bigger fish.
The upside, we really do have some commits with a high level of talent. Good chance that had they signed with certain other teams, they would have received slightly larger bumps.

No reason to boast to your friends, but no reason to feel depressed either.

I'm beginning to hate this time of year. All these FF window lickers coming in here starting drama. It's like going to a party and leaving an upper decker. Buncha tools.

While it's great to hear about Dobbs, I think there is another story worth noting. Nathan Peterman, according to McShay, was the best in show during the Senior Bowl activities. While I'm happy for Dobbs, I am thoroughly impressed with Nate's ability to regroup and bounce back.

For the negavols a story like this does add fuel to anti-Butch, "Make Tennessee Great Again" fire. Butch encouraged No. 1 to graduate early and move on. He kept No. 3 around, without a QB coach to maximize his talent.
