In other words she has no experience in how to run a university with a traditional power AD, but supposedly required that the new AD does. That is what they are saying Kristy. But that was just an excuse they used to disqualify DB and Fulmer conveniently so they could quick snap hire their stooge...IMO

Game. Set. Match.

We're skipping it this weekend because we have to complain about the ad hire

This is the general discussion thread..I mean that is pretty much why this thread exists. But as far as recruit news goes..Litaker is not going to be here this weekend, supposedly it doesn't mean anything bad, he just couldn't make it. Teague going to Clemson instead of being here is not good. The bagmen will descend on him like a flock of buzzards. I hope he doesn't fall into the Tee Higgins abyss..

15 reps @225...

That's strong. Esp for an APB/athlete. He has never been bulky or had to carry the full load of a RB.

Of course it's strong, he's a (soon to be) NFL athlete.

But 15 reps isn't really impressive for an NFL RB either. It's good enough to not raise any red flags, which is usually the most important thing for RBs at the combine as it pertains to the bench press.

I just thought it was interesting that Kamara was a few reps behind other backs of a similar size because we've been hearing for the past few months that our S&C program was not up to snuff and/or some team leaders weren't putting in as much work as the coaches had expected.

What's up with his weak bench press compared to others

Our previous people pleasing S&C imposter of a coach sucked. It does look like AK would have spent the last couple of months trying to build that up...what is kind of scary to think about is..If he HAS spent the last couple of months building up, knowing that big measurables could vault him into first round money...How weak was he before?..Could that have something to do with his big fumble numbers? Either way Butch obviously knows he effed up, and hopefully that doesn't happen again.

Just watched all of Beards videos..I really like this this hire...good job Butch and Scott. This guy has a really magnetic personality, and a good grasp of fundamental teaching.

I imagine he's been focusing much, much more on his running and agility numbers than BP.

You're not gonna add to your BP max very much in 2-3 months. But spending 2-3 months perfecting techniques for a 40 yard dash can help you shave a lot of time off of it.

Kamara's got a bit of a perception as a guy who has great burst and agility but not quite elite speed. Nailing his 40 will be a lot more important for him than adding on a few BP reps.

I see BakedZiti still in full depression mode. I've missed 30 pages and stopped reading after two since it appears to be same story from days ago of whining

From a poster on VQ...

"Brent, My wife works with the mom of one our top 4 star targets. She told my wife that a lot of our best Vol targets are about to commit to the Vols. Instead of waiting these guys are talking about having the best class ever assembled for football. They want to stick together because they believe they'll win a National championship together. Also said they would have the best defensive.line since the Haynesworth and Henderson days.

Also said there's a big surprise for all of us Vol fans on a big time quarterback who's currently committed somewhere else.

Please tell me you've heard some rumblings?
Butch is selling them finally having the right staff in place to get it done.

All I can tell you is we work in Chattanooga.
Flame away but I'm a cup is half full guy and I believe."

Were there responses to this?

Good points..I'll buy that.

Who's going to be our second target for running back in this class. I believe Master Teague is number 1 right now, but after him who are targets 2-5. I've kinda stepped away from here for a bit and am getting back into the recruiting forum.

I agree. Hiring coaches to me is probably the most important part of the job. If the coaches you hire suck it makes no difference how good you are at everything else.

So you hire 100% HOF level coaches but can't pay them because you run the department into the ground financially...and you good?

Not sure where the arm strength question comes from unless the evaluator has mistaken Dobbs' underthrows when he gets out of sync or tries to throw off his back foot for a lack of arm strength. His arm is plenty strong though.

I wouldn't take anything any of these "experts" say seriously. They contradict each other all the time. All through the senior bowl all we heard from Mike Mayock was how strong Dobbs arm was. Now this guy says his arm is weak.

I'm now beginning to think they just make stuff up since they have no idea what they are doing.

I'm thinking the defense will be much improved, love the hires made on that side of the ball. It's probably a good thing this team is flying under the radar so to speak compared to last offseason. This team has a good chance to surprise a lot of people IMO.

I feel the same way. Its good that we'll be underrated this off-season after the hype of last year.

I think if we can stay healthy, this team has more than enough talent to win at least 10 games and the SEC East.

Sweet justice IMO. Hurd quits because of his Ego...says the team wouldn't win another game without him.......now he gets to watch Kamara make bank while he.........wtf is he doing?

I gotta admit there will be nothing sweeter than watching Alvin get drafted in the first round just to know how much it'll burn Jalen.

That kid had so much talent. He could have gone in the first round alongside Alvin. But instead he let his ego make a monumentally stupid decision that might cause him to never play in the NFL.

All around that was maybe the stupidest decision I've ever seen a player make given what was at stake.
