He didn't run the offense as interim HC though

No he didn't, but he did know the playbook and he knew whether or not he liked what was being called.

While it's not the same as calling the plays, there is an amount of credit that has to be given for the position he was filling.

I remember a few times last year and this year alike where you saw Saban on the sideline screaming at Kiffin. Saban wasn't running the offense, but he sure as hell did not like the plays that the man running the offense was calling.

It was jest. Sorry if it offended you, since I'm guessing you are in the business. I certainly wasn't making light of the tsumami, only that the reactors around here are of a similar design and vintage to those in Japan. My father-in-law retired from TVA and happened to spend most of his career working on electrical systems in GE BWRs throughout the southeast. I'm on your side.

I know this is just a typo, but tsumami means bar snacks lol so in a way you were unintentionally making light of the situation 😂

I remember Josh saying in an interview after the MCB that that was actually part of the game plan...and that it was always pretty much a part of the game plan throughout the season. It was an aspect that was left up to him a lot of the time, as the man on the field, to decide (based off formation and what happened after the snap) as to whether he ran the ball or not.

Would have liked to have seen more deep balls too, but I was happy that the ones we did see this year were at least caught for the most part. That was a major improvement over last year.

That's kind of a given though lol what do you expect the coaches to tell him?

"Josh if there's a busted play just give up on it, even if you can outrun the entire defense."

I knew you would fix it...that's why I quoted it so quickly. Wanted to make sure your ineptness was forever ingrained on VN.

I'm cool like that. :)

My ineptitude is well known throughout the land and it is kept fresh in the minds of the populace through regular foul ups and mishaps. Thank you sir for pointing out my failures. My self esteem had almost risen into positive territory. :)

His explanation was far better than mine. You may be correct though. Maybe he was just using QB/team player speak to cover up ineptness.

I never did see this year's MIZZOU game posted on YouTube bit I just found it. Here it is if anyone would like it for highlight reels or just to rewatch.

@RyanCallahan247: @BenStancliff Hey, Ben, glad you finally decided to stop trying to be an anonymous fake reporter. Good to put your name behind your work.

Larry Scott will be a OC somewhere soon. If it's here he promoted from within on the O that scored a ridiculous amount of points

Maybe, but where? We know a few G5 schools had interest in him a HC candidate. We hadn't heard anyththing about someone making a run at him as OC though. There weren't any P5 teams trying to make a run at him for passing game coordinator, run game coordinator, or Co-OC.

Maybe he would be an OC somewhere soon, but it sure wouldn't be in the SEC, or likely any P5 school.

However, Kramer did it also and got fired.

Kramer being fired is how I remember it, lol

That's not the point I was making.

Someone said that his offense at Miami and the one at UT were different, so it's not just Butch hiring someone to run his offense.

I was just pointing out that it wasn't his offense. We don't know if the guy even has his own offense.

The Butch haters have moved to the edge of their seats and are reaching for the Jergens bottle...

Lol at the time I thought it was good that it meant so much to him and he was that excited, but looking back it certainly wasn't very stoic. Tom Landry he isn't.
