Two plays burned and two pass interference calls against in limited playing time. I don't know why he's biting on double moves and not getting his head around. We've not had a problem developing other DBs so I don't think it's coahing.

All players develope at different rates. It might click for him sometime and I hope it does. I think he's a hell of an athlete and busts heads on special teams but if your a liability in the passing game your not going to make it.

Buchanan bit on the same move. We were playing off coverage but they were in man by themselves. Second one wasn't bad he got beat but that ball barely got in there. Versus Virginia Tech he played good. His PIs were on a 6'7 245lb dude who was pushing off. Had Martin gotten his head around here would've easily had a pick the first time. The second time should've been a no call. But we've played 4 games and he's been beat 4 times with only two being catches. I mean I could give you Marsalis Teague so you would know what a liability really looks like in coverage.

haha yup. that sun did not set lol. row 46 seat 24. I had a florida fan behind me.

I was in Section M Row 14, Seat 14 and we were white. Thankfully the sun went behind the press box at half time for me. It was miserable the whole first half and not just because of our play!

I'm just going off the top of my head here, but despite his athletic ability or potential, I can think of far more negative plays Justin Martin has given us in his career thus far than positive ones. He's been a real headache thus far this season, and it's not like he lit the world on fire last year either. Buchanan has gotten beat a couple of times so far, but I'm willing to roll with him moving forward given he is a true freshman until Martin gets his act together and earns his playing time again. He's been really frustrating to say the least.

Headache????

If a CB is thrown on 4 times so far this year he's doing his job more often than not.

If you want you can turn the Bama game on from last year or the SCAR game and he can make up for all this since you are talking career talk.

My goodness you folks are wide open. A quiet CB is a good CB. He blew the first one. And the second deep ball he got beat but was right there. Whining about the PIS where both sides are playing physical is hilarious. Guess you didn't see the Gators DBs getting away with far worse stuff versus our WRs. Watch Wilson's pick and how he manhandled Jennings 15 yards from the LOS in the end zone right in front of the ref.

I thought Wilson's pick was close to PI. He didn't hit him hard, but he made contact and impeded his path. That is why Dobbs threw it right to Wilson.

Not to mention Martin coming back from an ankle injury that may have been limiting.

I like what I see from Buchanan. He's poised, he competes and he doesn't look like a freshman corner physically. He's 5'11 190lbs. He's gonna be a real good one for us.

He started the game with a stupid personal foul call, and I'm pretty sure he had another stupid personal foul call against VT if I remember correctly. It's not just the plays he has gotten beaten on or had to interfere on to stop a big play. It's the bonehead type personal foul plays. Those just drive you nuts.

Martin cost us 66 yards in the first 25 seconds of the game. By himself he basically handed Florida 7 points.

If Shoop keeps it up, we need to make him the $1.5 million/year man.

Pay him close to what he'd make as HC at a mid-major and keep him on staff for another 3-4 years.

His awful stint at Columbia will probably keep the big programs away until he strings together some great seasons at Tennessee, but he will get huge offers to be a DC elsewhere unless we pony up the cash.

Nice! Row 61, seat 20. We're everywhere!

There was a Florida fan several rows behind me at the top of the section. He was pretty quiet in the second half.

I was under the upper deck so we were protected. We did have little bits of Neyland rust falling on us when the crowd was rowdy.

Butch said JRM is a GO for Saturday and Kirkland is most likely out....

Pretty shocking. He looked about 50% before he came out. Hard to imagine something that could keep him totally off the field is ok a week later.

McDowell did great in the second half.

On that note, who has been our special teams tackling stud? Was JRM a while back, then McDowell.. haven't seen a big stand out

I said earlier that my 16 year old son did that edit on that picture circulating around showing Hurd wrangling a gator. Here's another he did if you're interested.

The crowd never felt totally out of it. They got quieter as the deficit mounted, but you could see the team trying. The fans were just waiting for them to break through. A few faltered at the half, not wanting to feel the sting again. The third quarter started much the same as the first half. When Hurd caught that first TD, we knew we had a ballgame. It wasn't a fluke. The fluke was not scoring earlier. The crowd got hungry.

When that second TD went to Wolf, it was on! And it was great redemption for Wolf and those first half drops. They were in the thick of it. Belief was fully revived. The crowd was frothing.

I truly feel like the game was won on the Jennings strike. It was over. Florida hung its head like too many Tennessee teams in the not-too-distant past. We knew that look. It was a dog with its tail between its legs. The blood was in the water.

When Malone housed the quick hit, the feeding frenzy was in full bloom. The sea went red and the hunted went belly up.

Even after Florida responded, surprisingly the worry was minimal. This wasn't "those" teams. This was a new force--not to be denied. The crowd knew it. The team knew it. More importantly, the opponent knew it.

Let's get us some Georgia!

I know before the season, there was a ton of discussion about potential guys leaving early, most of which was surrounding Hurd, Kamara, & Barnett. However, if his season continues the way it has started, I wouldn't be shocked to see Malone take a long look at leaving early as well for the NFL Draft. Dude looks like a completely different player this year.
