I think Dobbs will have all day to throw and Eason will have none. Wouldn't surprise me if Dobbs looks like the pro-caliber QB on Saturday by slicing up UGA's secondary from a clean pocket.

He'll either have all day to throw, or will be rushed and torch their defense for 100+ rushing yards. Either way, as long as Dobbs plays like he did against Florida, we crush them. He looked great throwing the ball, and I look forward to some catch and runs again.

We're high off a huge victory and they got embarrassed and have something to prove

Everyone is going to claim to of "called it" after the game. If we win, everyone will say UGA isn't very good this year, if we lose, everyone will say the Vols couldn't handle the success and UGA was playing mad.

I just spent some time looking at some stats of UGAs, and it appears we'll have a pretty big advantage this week in special teams. Their punter is only averaging 39.6 yards per punt. He has kicked 6 inside the 20 and 8 of his 22 have been fair caught, but his longest kick is 52 yards, so it looks like he's probably not the best at flipping field position.

Their kickers have struggled even more. They're 3/8 on FGs for the year. Neither of their kickers has hit from further than 29 yards out. They've missed from 52, 42, 23, 38, and 36 yards.

On kickoffs, 6 of their 20 have been touchbacks. One of their kickers has kicked 6/15 for touchbacks and the other is 0/5. They've given up about 22 yards per return (which isn't bad, considering the following) and one return TD. Berry should get an opportunity or two. Isaiah McKenzie is averaging 9.9 yards per return on punts, but one of those was a 55 yarder, so it kind of skews things. We will have to keep an eye on him though.

The encouraging thing about those stats is that it looks like we should be able to win the field position battle and make UGA have to drive the length of the field to get in scoring range.

Their OL has struggled mightily thus far this season, as have their WRs. Eason has actually been pretty good throwing the ball (his WRs really let him down last game) and their RBs (even without Chubb) are good enough to make some good plays on their own. I imagine UGA will have a couple explosive plays despite their OL struggles because of this.

However, their offense is 78th in the country in tackles for loss allowed. If we win the field position game for most of the day like we have most of the season thus far, I don't see them sustaining a whole lot of drives to get into scoring position.

One stat that does worry me though is time of possession. UGA is 12th in the nation there. Teams that have been able to slow things down on offense, eat the clock, and keep us off the field have given us fits the past two years. I expect to see UGA try to do this, or at least that's what they should try to do. We all know how pass happy Chaney can get at times and incompletions would be a help for us in this category.

On defense, they're giving up about a 1.25 fewer rushing yards per game than we are. However, they're giving up 4.4 ypc and we're only giving up 3.79. They're giving up about 243 ypg in the passing game, 7.5 ypa, and opposing QBs have averaged a passer rating of 135..77. Our respective stats there are 212, 6.2, and 123.55.

They have gotten more interceptions than we have though (6 vs 2). 3 of those came agains Mizzou (though Mizzou did have a lot of yards passing that game), 2 came against Nicholls St., and 1 came against Ole Miss' backup in garbage time.

As for the red zone:

They've scored on 13 of their 17 trips to the redzone, with 3 of those being FGs. We've scored on 14 of 17 with 3 of those being FGs (worth noting, one of these failed attempts was us killing the clock against UF last week).

Red zone defense:

We're basically identical. They've 9 TDs and 4 FGs on 14 attempts. We've given up 8 TDs and 4 FGs on 13 attempts.

TOP shouldn't matter if we're picking their defense apart

Both of our offenses are converting around 40% of 3rd downs. They're 25/64 and we're24/60. They're 3/4 on 4th down conversions and we're 1/3 (again, with one of those being as time ran out against UF)

Our defense is gicing up 33.87% of 3rd down conversions (21/62). Theirs is giving up 35.19% (19/54). Their defense has given up 2/4 4th down conversions and we've given up 3/6.

That's right. But it's a scary stat if our offense starts slow (which they've done so far this season).

Over the past two seasons, the teams that have given our offense the most trouble have been ones that either blow up our OL and get a lot of TFLs (which it doesn't look like UGA will do) or ones that have eaten up the clock and limited our number of offensive drives (which UGA might be able to do).

Looking at things only on paper, I suspect we'll have the biggest advantages on special teams and running the ball. Their offense will probably run the ball at least decently and maybe pretty well against us. But their offense has been prone to giving up negative plays and putting itself in tough positions.

It probably goes without saying, but if our offense starts fast and we're able to jump out to a 2-3 score lead early like Ole Miss did, then we should be able to shut their offense down pretty easily. If the offense starts slow, UGA definitely has the skill players on offense to pull off the upset (especially if their WRs correct their issues with drops).

The key to me is for Debord to keep the offense wide open like he did last week. We shouldn't have to be as afraid of UGA's defense getting in the backfield like we were against UF. After how well Dobbs did against blitzes and pressure last week, I kind of expect them to probably play somewhat soft in coverage and force Dobbs to read defenders. If they do that, we should run all over them.

A matchup that worries me (albeit less so since Saturday) is Jumper on Blazevich. He might be able to keep the chains moving

So, I had a random thought upon rewatching the game. On that route where Malone takes that slant to the house, he literally outruns the entire Florida defense. Can anyone think of another offensive play since Butch Jones has been here where one of our players just completely dusted the opposing defense? I can't.

The speed differential caught my attention as well on that play. Did Malone kick it into another gear or was Florida unexpectedly slow?

I feel more relieved as a fan to root for this team, I can only imagine what the Florida win did for the peace of mind of this team. We've been talking about it for ages and our predictions are finally arriving... I can't believe we're 4-0, in the convo for top 10, and already have the weight of the world off our backs. This team is going to go play loose and energetically the next few games. Should make for great television.

They may have been tired at that point but he looked like he was on another level. And against Florida no less, a notoriously stingy defense. Like I said, that's the only time I remember seeing that happen under Butch Jones.
